Sat. 01.09.2012 | Radio Drama meets Puresque | 11:59pm

Once a month on the Globus Floor on Saturday, Tresor Club presents Radio Drama. Tresor residents Vince Watson and Future Beat Alliance invite top quality contemporary EDM artists to create an evening of innovative clubbing. With each exciting party, new boundries are crossed and tonight is no exception. To most electronic music aficionados, Detroit native Kenny Larkin is a man who needs no introduction. His impressive 20-year history of creating arguably some of the most timeless, soulful techno ever created, is unquestionable. But, to the newer generation of club-goers, who aren’t aware of his contributions, 2012 serves as the year to re-establish his position as one of the most valuable forces in dance music today. The building blocks of his signature sound are rooted in his early exposure to jazz, funk, and soul, in addition to other more electronic influences. These styles all serve as the backbone of Kenny Larkin's unique style. This was a key component in the formation of the second wave of Detroit Techno, alongside artists such as Carl Craig. Kenny Larkin’s small, but impressive catalog of work of over the years, all displays his ability to chisel out of the often cold hard machines, his own sound that is all heart and soul. Quite simply, this is electronic soul music. The basement sees the monthly takeover of the dungeon sound by residents Puresque and also distinguished guests. Hailing from Argentina Mariano DC is synonymous with quality and showmanship. The Argentinean jock has been at the top of the Techno scene in Buenos Aires & various other parts of South America since 1994. One must understand that besides constantly being at the forefront of Techno and playing alongside the very best in the field, he has reached a certain top status whilst always remaining true to the Underground, in the very sense of the meaning. Mariano DC has played every legendary venue in Argentina both old & new. His latest track - 'Brains Eaters' has been remixed by Swedish Drumcode Kingpin Joel Mull, and is currently being played by DJs worldwide. A Techno vinyl purist, Mariano DC's style can be defined as relentless and uncompromising with pin point mixing and excellence behind the decks. Berlin's Raeyk is also on the decks, delivering a very stripped-down urban sound, sometimes minimal, sometimes teknoid but all the while keeping a personalized safe distance in a creative framework that leaves no underground techno stone unturned.
