machìna is the alias of Korean musician Yeohee Kim, whose early jazz-based vocal explorations led her into a career in K-pop. Having struggled to adapt to the restrictive bounds within this industry, she moved to Tokyo, finding creative freedom and shifting towards an electronic sound. Through this, she embraced the serendipitous qualities of modular synthesis. The immediate sonic experience is one that is innately tethered to club music sensibilities - raw and physical - designed for dark rooms and dancing.
