BHC: new faces
Wed 18 June 2014 - 23:59

Tresor was born from new sounds and continues to live for them. For many Tresor Club fans, the ticket to capturing the essence of the underground feeling that Tresor has always represented, belongs to those who venture into the basement on Wednesdays for the new faces behind the decks. Every current techno star today was once a “new face” yesterday and these young DJs are the promise of the genre’s future, many of them already solidly based in their own club residencies yet now breaking into the German capital nightlife à la Tresor. Sweden is represented for tonight’s new faces: simply put, Abi Bah describes his current style as 4/4 electronic dance music with a modern touch, which is not only descriptive of his latest productions but reflects his sound as a DJ as well. With his last release “Liquid Amour EP” on Different Is Different records, Abi Bah is part of a new wave of Swedish artists garnering attention beyond their nations borders, an emerging artist to watch. Swedish analogue techno producer Johan Afterglow is never afraid of keeping things simple: Johan often concentrates on the elemental ingredients of electronic dance music. A man of many musical faces, not a newcomer in the scene and becoming a somewhat household name in remixing, production, DJing and hard, funky techno since the early 90s, he counts releases on many distinguished electronic music labels. Both of these new faces are welcomed and hosted by our very esteemed basement resident 88UW.
