Olvr/kcra is the new project from Oliver Kucera, a Czech DJ and producer devoted to stripped down, pure and raw techno, now based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is one of the founders of Contradiction Records and delivers a live set tonight. Waktu-Loopa is an underground sound scientist who has been experimenting since the early 90s, combines psychedelic atmospheres and hard EBM hooks, dubby elements and up-front four-to-the-floor dancefloor shakers, krauty melodies and broken beats. His music is a conglomerate of a diverse set of influences – dissected, twisted, welded and riveted by an experienced engineer. Hearing one of his rare and elusive live sets is a massive aural experience, partly owing to the fact that there is no computer to be seen on stage. Waktu Loopa is using hardware synths, samplers and sequencers only, which caters to his will to always improvise, to mix and separate, to find harmonics in a wall of noise. Yet another live set can be expected from German artist Multipol – all welcomed and hosted by the Tresor basement killer techno resident 88UW.
