In 2018 Transcendent Records presented a new immersive cinematic techno release by a French producer who goes under the name of Ersatz Olfolks. Some might already know him from previous releases on Singular Records and Cheap. For a producer with only two records behind him he already had a bright voice within the overcrowded musical techno landscape. The EP “Heliopolis” is the city of the sun and was the theological center of the greatest sun temple of pharaonic times. The sunrays bring brightness but we also find ourselves in the darkest ominous shades of an eclipse. His contra dictionary sound is filled with subtle harmonic distortions and sophisticated melodic and evolving modular patterns. Heliopolis EP is a careful selection of works recorded during live sessions and we are excited to experience Ersatz Olfolks live set tonight. Dan Snazelle is a Brooklyn-based techno producer and Snazzy Fx boss. Much of the hardware Dan uses in his productions and live sets was designed and built by him. His focus as an artist is on electronic music as a vehicle for achieving transcendent states. This comes out in his sets as a respect for both the funky and hypnotic aspects of dance music. As a DJ and live act, Dan has performed throughout Europe and is a regular fixture in NYC. 2018 saw Dan release the “Exposure to a Steady Stream Ep” on Jacktone records. Fact Magazine included the track ” Broken Saucers in their best of September round-up. WHT MOTH is the name of the project made up in 2018 by Luca CST, DJ, producer and live performer originally coming from Siracusa, Sicily. He soon discovered the club scene of Berlin where he relocated at the age of 24, to challenge his talent behind the decks. Starting from a very young age, Luca has been passionate about electronic music of all genres, expressing his most authentic and creative nature through the gloomy and obscure sounds of techno. WHT MOTH’s style drives to an introspective journey, crossing a bleak and furious path at the heart of industrial surroundings. Luca started playing at Sicilian local parties, presenting a selection with a much darker soul than the one of the tropical island he was born into, consistently surprising the crowd with his great taste in music. An Italian techno duo and one live visuals based in Berlin, Nothing Is Real is a collaboration between long-time bass music producers, D-Operation Drop and Spacedrome and Omar Eox with a fundamentally clean-cut focus on the live facets of techno music and digital arts taking care of building up and producing 3D Video Mapping. Drawing on early influences from sub-heavy sound system culture, through the energetic UK styles of the past 20 years, and on to the pulsating techno scene in their new home city, Nothing Is Real fuses a vast musical inspiration and with years of production experience to create dynamic, raw and driving techno.
