KNALL: the German word for “blast” or “bang”, and this is the last one for 2019!
Blake Baxter has been an integral member of the Tresor family since the inception of the club and label, and his sets in both Globus and Tresor, as well as his infamous recordings, are essential to the foundation of our home. From the Olymp of Detroit’s techno founders, his nickname “Prince Of Techno” may be correct but his talents reach further edges of the genre, as exemplified on his many releases over the years, including on our house label. Blake Baxter can turn out a hot tech-house set and tonight will be no exception. Since moving from her homeland of France to Berlin in 2005, DJ Bloody Mary encompasses all aspects of an established electronic musician: she’s a vinyl DJ, she performs as a hardware-only live act, she’s a producer, and she’s been running the label Dame-Music since 2010. As a world-class DJ, she has traveled internationally, her unique musical taste and elegant on-stage presence have seen Bloody Mary featured at venues and festivals around the world and a better question would be to ask where she has NOT played. As a producer, Bloody Mary has released countless records on Dame-Music over the past 8 years. Since 2017, she decided to branch out further, releasing her music on Josh Wink’s Ovum Rec., DJ Pierre’s Afro Acid, and Tim Taylor’s legendary UK techno imprint, Missile. Berlin-based artist Alex Tsiridis aka RHYW (one half of Cassegrain & running Arcing Seas) is one of Techno’s more prolific producers. Tsiridis has used the Rhyw alias to explore more abstract interpretations of both the Techno genre and the wider dance music spectrum. He has released solo EPs on Tar Hallow, Arcing Seas and his new label Fever AM as well as a contribution to legendary Tbilisi club, Bassiani. Downstairs in Tresor: South London Analogue Material aka S.L.A.M. is a vinyl-only label founded around 2015 by Ossian and Ansome. Quickly the label has established itself with some distinguished releases by cutting-edge electronic dance artists across the board. Inspired by a raw and urban UK techno lineage, Kieran Whitefield aka Ansome‘s drums are heavyweight, his percussion fierce and his synths full-blooded. All in all that makes for a live set that grabs your attention and drags you along for an enthralling ride. Littered with his own field recordings, it can be variously eerie or boisterous. Perc Trax is a London label run by Perc, releasing deep tech house to driving techno. Launched in 2004 as a vehicle for Perc’s own productions, it has evolved into a must check imprint for those with an interest in rough-edged electronic music from techno to house & electro to more experimental industrial & noise works. Perc is one of electronic dance music’s reference points: an internationally touring DJ, label owner and one of the most respected producers in techno today. Known as one of the most forward-thinking individuals in techno Perc fuses current sounds with his extensive knowledge of electronic music’s past to create something new & unique. A regular artist on such scene-leading labels, Perc travels the world playing in the most famous venues. Few have a recent back catalogue as rich and diverse as returning guest DJ Randomer. His discography reads like a who’s who of modern techno: across a six year career, he’s produced four EPs for Untold’s Hemlock Recordings; released records for Hessle Audio, Numbers, Perc Trax and Clone; and most recently, been cherry-picked for Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S. As a DJ, Randomer is one of the UK’s finest, capable of effortlessly stitching together modern bass with classic techno and less esoteric 4/4 rhythms. Tresor resident Mischa is a product of shifting technological landscapes. Nurtured by computerized machine music through radio waves from the hardcore continuum, he has developed a distinctly futurist vision for uncompromising techno music. Born in Berlin, Mischa inevitably found the legendary Hard Wax as a main educator in taste, and has worked there since 2010.
