Tonight Tresor presents the 49th edition of Ground Theory. Seemingly out of nothing, through dust and with no bang, Vril appeared on the scene. His music made such beautiful noise that it instantly found his place on Marcel Dettmann’s selection for his Conducted CD and on Ostgut’s release schedule. His sound is a search for the evergoing movement, exploring a never stopping energy. Once Vril catches you in his groove it will shine so bright you won’t be able to escape it. Tales of his live sets being heard at the festivals and top venues all share the same common feature: that it’s a euphoric and energetic journey in sound. His release on Delsin records has been acclaimed and played everywhere, while his highly anticipated debut album “Torus” from 2014 contained some great surprises. Returning Grounded Theory artist Jorden Hodgetts aka Cleric is a UK-based producer who has established himself not only as a bonafide new talent and a key player in the international Techno world but also as a prolific artist on Figure. His unyielding tracks as Cleric proudly wear their Manchester heritage on the sleeve, and his excellent 2017 EP “Resurrection” makes no exception. Well known for his crisp, deadly club tracks and rich melancholic ambient studies, his addictive, smart and dark 90s-reminiscent synth hooks deliver an array of stomping, percussive weapons primed for expansive spaces and killer sound systems. Grounded Theory artist and co-founder, DJ, producer, promoter and owner of his own Manhigh imprint, Henning Baer also released cutting-edge tracks on K209 and Sonic Groove. A DJ of worldwide renown for ability and tastes, Henning Baer forged his enviable résumé with his own hands. Following on years of closely-synchronized work with fellow resident Milton Bradley, Henning Baer asserted greater independence with innovative production styles on an EP for Taanstaafl Planets. A guest in Tresor for many years, he is profoundly shaping contemporary techno from recent memory into the foreseeable future. Returning artist The Lady Machine aka Kammy is a major reference among Brazilian techno DJs and remains one of the few DJs that has gained a reputation solely due to skills and music selection on the decks without achieving a career as a producer. She has been at the forefront of the underground electronic scene in Brazil for many years, and her skills have taken her around the globe. The Lady Machine stands by deep musical research and precise technique, her remarkably versatile sets, blend genres from techno in its many forms and variations to electro, acid and full industrial EBM, and when combined with her fast, furious, but tight mixing create a perfect atmosphere with the dancefloor. In the +4Bar: Cio D’Or’s music arises from an idea, which she develops and threads through her own sounds: Emotional, extravagant, charismatic, cinematic, sometimes poetic. Her music strives towards “infinity” between origin and development. Since 2004 Cio D’Or released 2 albums, 10 EPs, 3EPs coproduced with Donato Dozzy, Gabriel Ananda or Paul Brtschitsch and 4 remixes for labels like Prologue, Semantica, Telrae, Hypnus or Time to Express. PULSA:RE is a combination of a DJ Set and new music with an ensemble, developed in cooperation with the composer Brigitta Muntendorf. Berlin-based returning artist P.Leone is a musician, DJ and producer hailing from South Brooklyn, New York. At 23, Salvatore Carlino aka P.Leone threw himself into production, quickly developing an intricate, uncompromising dancefloor sound – the likes of which expertly pays homage to his hip-hop, experimental and disco influences. Moving to Berlin, he released his inaugural “The Exit 8” EP on Spencer Parker’s much-respected label Work Them. Alongside his fellow New Yorker Caizzo, P.Leone launched his E-MISSIONS label in March 2017, courtesy of the no less exceptional “1994EVER”.
