French producer and DJ Marina Trench’s career is slowly blossoming. She immersed herself in the local electronic music scene where she began DJing, and since going on to become an avid vinyl collector and vinyl-only DJ. Relocation to Paris in 2014 saw further engagements with the French scene and her first forays into production began. Trench spent two years working on a selection of tracks and this dedication to her craft has payed off, as the inaugural EP was snapped up by the revered Parisian artist DJ Deep for release on his acclaimed Deeply Rooted imprint, a testament to the quality of Trench’s output and an endorsement that marks the beginning of a new chapter in Trench’s career. Kerri Chandler was tapped for remix duties of Marina’s debut and jumped at the opportunity, again attestation that this burgeoning artist is clearly taking steps in the right direction. Another Deeply Rooted release is penciled, so it’s clear to see things are only just beginning for this hotly tipped artist. Raised with an odd mix of old school jungle, minimal techno and indie rock, Arend – Dutch for (the bald) Eagle – draws from many different influences. It all started with an indie rock band that would quickly evolve in an all-synth live act with which he toured Europe and China multiple times. All of this happened with high school friend Joris vdp with who he would found nightclub Het Magazijn in 2017. Emmanuel Corre is E-Talking, the Berlin DJ last year featured a track on The London label Whities “Blue” 12-inch series, on Blue 04. E-Talking is also one-half of the French duo Numme, a prominent pair who have released a great deal of impressive music on the likes of Butter Sessions, Going Good, Peur Bleue, Fragil Music and on their own imprint. They also boast a killer live show, one of which blew the roof off a Glasgow basement when 12th Isle hosted them many years back. We welcome Emmanuel to the House Of Waxx decks tonight.
