For Antonio Ferrari, aka DJ Ralf, turntable skill comes from the inspiration he found in rock music and from the years he spent behind the decks as a DJ in his hometown of Perugia, where he was known as ” Lacugnana “, ” Story Teller ” and ” Norman the President.” He played at innovative clubs in which he was able to freely mix different genres together and appeal to a large cross section of people. A 1987 trip to New York proved to be the second significant step in DJ Ralf‘s career: the music in NY’s clubs inspired him to start a party back home that was primarily focused on the innovative house music coming out of his native Italy. Since then he has remained a key element of the Italian house music scene, taking his signature style to top clubs all over Europe and the world. In 2006 DJ Ralf started his label, Laterra Recordings. During the summer of 2007, from July 10th till September 11th DJ Ralf presented his own club night, ‘Alma’ at Privilege in Ibiza. He also presents a party, “Bellaciao” that takes place on two Sundays of the month at Urban Club in his hometown of Perugia. For Ralf, music elevates the spirit and releases nervous tension. It is an indispensable part of his daily life, and an inspiration for those who are fortunate enough to attend his parties and hear his excellent sets. A year ago, Nick Anthony Simoncino dropped a terrific set at House Of Waxx and we are really happy to welcome him back. Simoncino is an Italian producer, DJ and long-time collector of vinyl and boasts a collection of over 10.000 vinyl records, mainly Chicago House, Techno Detroit and Garage 80’s. Inspired by the sound of vintage synths and drum machines, Simoncino started to utilize them in his productions, debuting on Mathematics Records in 2009. Nick has released on dozens of top labels and in 2011 he founded his own Vinyl only label called HotMix Records and one sub label in 2012 called Hot Island Records and still finds the time to release five albums and more than 40 EP’s in a few years and is currently working on some major projects and several collaborations. And as always we welcome the sharp house sounds of Frankfurt’s Robert Drewek, founder of Rawax and a regular HoW guest: providing delicious sets of groovy house with techno impressions, Robert founded his own record distribution DBH Music in 2007 with Alex Bau and Jörg Henze. The tight cooperation between Rawax and House Of Waxx has continued a formidable cooperation with Monday nights in Tresor Club. Today DBH is one of the most important record distributions for electronic music and the home of Drewek’s Rawax which had an amazing impact in the scene from day one.
