Again we welcome back the sophisticated house sounds of Frankfurt’s Robert Drewek, founder of Rawax and a regular HoW guest: providing delicious sets of groovy house with techno impressions, Robert founded his own record distribution DBH Music in 2007 with Alex Bau and Jörg Henze. The tight cooperation between Rawax and House Of Waxx has continued a formidable cooperation with Monday nights in Tresor Club. Today DBH is one of the most important record distributions for electronic music and the home of Drewek’s Rawax which had an amazing impact in the scene from day one. In returning HoW artist Dana Ruh’s early years her sound was rooted in techno and landed most often on the label Brouqade Records, which she set together with her friend Ann in 2007 and joined by (Anthea also joined the imprint collective in 2012). Producing a deeper, more smoky house and techno sound, Dana has become one of the family members at Jus Ed’s lauded New Jersey label Underground Quality, where she released her stunning debut album ‘Naturally’. Commanding the decks in top Berlin clubs, Dana lays down seductive tracks from the worlds of house and techno as well as gems in between, as she does when on tour round world, hitting up clubs and festivals everywhere from the UK to the USA, Romania to Russia. Jakob Seidensticker b2b Melina play back-to-back tonight. One could start by saying Melina is a Hamburg based DJ/producer and that her career started in a friend’s living room, moving its way through London and Hamburg to the world. Covering a sweeping variety of genres, Melina is hardly to be put into a certain box. Always based on groove, her timeless music selection as well as her affinity to the extraordinary combined with oldschool beats form Melina’s very own energetic mixing and dancing style in which anything from disco to UK, from Chicago to Detroit and back to techno can happen. Together with Jakob Seidensticker, Boronas and Snad she runs the label We R The Aliens. Jakob Seidensticker’s vinyl-only DJ sets captivate through his broad number of styles from melting house, old school house, via romanian techno to broken beats and Italo House, while also playing his own productions and track ideas – always on point. Jakob Seidensticker is one third of the internationally known and highly respected trio Wareika, alongside Henrik Raabe and Florian Schirmacher. Touring around the world they have been producing and releasing music on premium labels, such as Perlon, Visionquest, Circus Company and Mule Musiq, just to name a few. As a second live project, Jakob is also touring with his fellow Wareika companion Henrik Raabe as Silky Raven, spreading an even more synthesizer based sound – for example on Damian Lazarus label Rebellion/Crosstown Rebels or with the lebanese producer Nesta to honour the oriental sound and traditions in a modernly way.
