Every Monday we involve different DJs, labels, residents or record shops to host a night with like-minded artists, BFFs and respected colleagues in Globus. The focus lies in vinyl DJing, buddy atmo and just flat-out good vibes. All in hyperfat sound, brought to you by Void Acoustics. Spin that mofo! Courtesy Najaaraq Nicoline Kleist Vestbirk playes techno that sounds like it was ripped from the dirt and then rocketed into the stratosphere, that she describes herself as “spacecraft techno”. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Courtesy is going from strength to strength surrounded by her power team Apeiron Crew, but taught herself how to DJ on her own when she was just 18. After graduating from Red Bull Music Academy Tokyo in 2014, she’s entering into the real world, occupying stages at Distortion Copenhagen, Way Out West, Øya Festival, Roskilde Festival plus Sonar Copenhagen, Stockholm, Barcelona – and Tresor Berlin. Stockholm/Berlin-based Kalawila debuts “Slagsmal Utbroet Pa Mount Everest EP” on his own imprint, Mountain Explosion Device in 2014, three tracks of deliciously dark house with techno tendencies, thundering bass frames and weaving soundscapes. Kalawila has finished two more records; “Krokodil når Västerås”, which will be out on Bossmusik later this year, and “Lönnmördare fick betalt i frimärken”, which will be on his own imprint. We welcome back Dan Mumberson aka Juniper from the UK, Manchester to be exact, part of the meandyou collective established in the legendary city – club night, NTS radio show, label. Describing Juniper‘s production skills in creating music, Resident Advisor says it is of the ‘deeper-than-thou house and techno’ variety. Welcome to House Of Waxx.
