House Of Waxx
Mon 07 December 2015 - 23:59

Every Monday House Of Waxx involves different DJs, labels, residents or record shops to host a night with like-minded artists, BFFs and respected colleagues in Globus. The focus lies in vinyl DJing, buddy atmo and just flat-out good vibes. All in hyperfat sound, brought to you by Void Acoustics. Spin that mofo! Based in Paris, France, Aleqs Notal is a french DJ and producer specializing in House music. The variety of formats that he flawlessly conveys music through is dominated by a predilection for vinyl records, combining influences from Detroit and Chicago, the sound that defines him reflects his early and endless fascination for the sharpest percussions. From the most soulful  house anthems to the darkest techno rhythms, via the fundamental genres of disco, funk, jazz and soul, Aleqs Notal’s possibilities are endless. 2014 saw the release of his first extended project on CCB Recordings: the A.E.T. EP (Ancient Egypt Theory) and after releasing the Chicago influenced, spaced-out, killer cut “Mare IMB” on the “Various Cuts EP #1” on ClekClekBoom, his next release is due late September on the third Paris Club Music Compilation. Fall-Winter 2015 are busy for Aleqs Notal with a new EP, “Disparity” also coming on Orlando based label Finale Sessions at the end of the year. Since relocating to Berlin at the turn of the decade, French-natives Alan and Etienne aka Arcarsenal have gone on to position themselves as proponents of music as warm as their personalities. Using their shared studio as a base from which they craft their productions, the analogue set-up and penchant for improvisation and jams has led to enthralling releases on mighty Underground Quality, aside their own Bass Cadet Records imprint. Proprietors of the store that bears the same name, these established DJ’s have been busy playing to parties across their adopted home town, Paris and the UK capital – sharing their love for the disco, house and techno that inspires them, whilst maintaining their own delectable take on the cherished sounds, either deep or upbeat, but always on the soul key. Amila is part of the very distinguished Altered Soul Experiment, releasing infectious, soulful, sexy and groove-laden house mixes, reaching within a spectrum of jazz to house fusion, so brilliantly seen on his recent mix “Cooking With Amila – Altered Soul Experiment takeover”.
