Always a great pleasure to welcome Berlin’s Sweat Lodge umbrella to House Of Waxx, tonight featuring three top fit Berlin DJs. Quarion entered the scene in 2006 via a spellbounding EP on Drumpoet Community followed by classic remixes and releases on Retreat, Future Classic, Quintessentials, and Perspectiv among others. A special project from Hip-Hop, Nu Jazz and Techno producer Ianeq, Quarion aims to go back to the roots of hipnotic dance music by exploring the deeper aspects of House and Techno. Jay Shepheard is a Berlin-based Londoner releasing quality house and disco since 2007 on labels including Compost, Futureboogie, Freerange, Pets Recordings, Buzzin Fly and many others as well as running his own Retrofit label launched in 2010. In late 2014 Shepheard dropped his second long playing project Seeing Sound – a 2×12″ of club tracks as the 20th release for Retrofit, while continuing to tour and play in top international venues. From Gothenburg, Sweden, Joel Alter is no stranger to our decks, an artist who always makes it difficult to pinpoint his style. Extremely diverse, including releases on contrasting labels Gigolo and M-nus, Joel Alter has his roots in the vibrant Gothenburg music scene of the late 80’s. Inspired by the funk movement and the growing rave scene, he started DJing in 1995. Having released numerous records on labels like Sweatshop and Bass Culture he also produced two highly acclaimed albums with his Swedish companion Henrik Jonsson under the moniker Jonsson/Alter. But it’s the release of his solo debut album “Heart” on Uncanny Valley in 2015 that shows Joel Alter in all of his personal und musical facets.
