Deeper techno and the desire for experimentation are the common demominators that the artists featured in the second of three Red Bull Academy club nights will undertake – SØS Gunver Ryberg for example. The composer and sound artist pulls her inspiration equally from her Danish country as well as breathless, industrial techno: Tresor is the perfect place for her live performance. The same goes for Magic Mountain High, the live trio made up of Move D and Juju & Jordash, whose analog sets are delivered full of improvosation.
Sweeping, emotional and shadowy DJ sets reveal everything about Abdulla Rashim, the secretive Swede, while Tin Man oscillates his analog machine funk between Acid and House; and Hiele with his inventory of equipment that flies through space footwork and IDM weirdness. Refracted and Rrose complement the night, for whom Techno is much more a springboard than a constriction.
