A post-NYE Tresor tradition, Still Awake!? invites you to a night that celebrates the entrance of the new club year, a salute to the nights to come, guided by some of our favorite Tresor guest artists and residents. Tastemaker, educator, sound designer, and Motor City proponet: our friend Mike Huckaby has done much for Detroit electronic music. The man behind the once legendary Record Time store has gathered an encyclopedic knowledge of music. He is a person who can see beyond the hype and divisions within the scene. With numerous highly acclaimed deep house productions and remixes on internationally renowned labels, Mike Huckaby brings the Detroit sound of deep house and techno with him. Possessing all the roots and culture of electronic dance music, he knows the balance between deep house and techno like no other. Kern Space Adventure is a project from our friend from Paris and frequent guest Zadig (back from last night’s set), a prolific artist from the French capital who also is busy with his Construct Re-Form label. Eric Cloutier is co-owner of Berlin and Bristol-based label Tanstaafl (together with John Osborn). Now making music as considered and carefully crafted as his DJ sets, Eric Cloutier has long been an influential underground selector. It is for that reason he has held down residencies at esteemed clubs in both Detroit and Berlin, as well as appearances in top international clubs and festivals. Barbara Preisinger has been an integral part of the Berlin club scene since moving from Munich in the late 90s. In 2009 she launched her own vinyl label Slices of Life and has been a frequent guest in our club for many years. Her passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno all the while remaining open towards interesting and outstanding tunes that makes you move. American artist Mike Parker lives and works in Buffalo, New York. For more than 20 years, Mike Parker has perfected a unique interpretation of techno music. His abstractions of sound and texture are now instantly recognizable to contemporary audiences. His long running series of 12” records on the Geophone imprint established his sonic persona and other labels took notice of the depth and power of his music. Neel is an Italian DJ, producer and composer who has been long known as part of Voices From The Lake together with Donato Dozzy, and as a solo artist he takes techno to deep, atmospheric regions, keenly assembled tracks for a style expressed well on his solo album of 2012 “Phobos”. Neel performs both mesmerizing live shows as well as a wonderfully atmospheric DJ set like tonight. The dark experimental techno to the deepest industrial sounds of Milton Bradley and uncompromising techno of our resident Marcel Heese round out this terrific Tresor night.
