Still Awake ?!
Mon 02 January 2017 - 23:59

For those who can’t get enough of NYE celebrations and still have the dance bug, tonight head on over to Tresor Club. Yes we are still awake and have invited some outstanding guests to keep you solidly on your feet. In Globus: we make room for the return of our friend and techno legend Juan Atkins! In the Tresor family since the inception of the club and label, his influence on modern electronic club music is simply immeasurable, the epitome of the term “pioneer”: experimenting in an era where the ground was ripe for change, Juan Atkins’ top significance remains in the annals of electronic music history. Don’t miss this opportunity to catch his set tonight – a true Detroit techno hero. And who better to share the decks with him than our friend Mike Huckaby. The man behind the once legendary Record Time store has gathered an encyclopedic knowledge of music. He is a person who can see beyond the hype and divisions within the scene. With numerous highly acclaimed deep house productions and remixes on internationally renowned labels, Mike Huckaby brings the Detroit sound of deep house and techno with him. Possessing all the roots and culture of electronic dance music, he knows the balance between deep house and techno like no other. Frequent guest and Slices Of Life chief Barbara Preisinger is an excellent addition to this terrific Globus line-up, as well as a rockin’ set from our resident HGR. Downstairs in Tresor, the powerful Dasha Rush returns to the decks. Dasha Rush is a Russian-born artist who sees the genre as a starting place, not a destination, combining her activities as a DJ and techno producer on her Fullpanda imprint, which she founded in 2005, with other multi-artistic collaborations alongside visual artists or dancers. Dasha Rush can safely be counted among the pioneers of the post-millennium experimental techno composers who already in mid 2000 began to wed industrial robustness with ambient textures and minimalism attitudes, and as a result newly defined the functionality of techno’s concept. We also welcome back Sigha’s immaculately crisp forward-moving rhythms sound as if tailor-made for the Tresor vault. Sigha is the alias of London Based techno producer, James Shaw. To date he has released primarily on Hotflush Recordings, Blueprint Recordings his own imprint Our Circula Sound and been commissioned to provide remixes for a wide range of labels including CLR, Mikrowave, Metalheadz, Echocord, Steadfast and Sudden Drop amongst others. Two of our prime techno residents Mischa and Reka guarantee for hot sizzling sounds into the wee hours of Tuesday….
