Ron Wilson, boss at 777 Recordings, captain at Submarine and head at Berlin’s Tanzmichmal turns out some turntable mastery with each Tresor visit, and for this Summer Special on the Globus Floor the Tanzmichmal crew gets your summer spirit rolling for a series of Thursdays. Brooklyn-based artist Maya Bouldry-Morrison aka Octo Octa has been releasing mainly house music since 2011 when her debut EP Let Me See You lasso’d a mighty wave of international house-heads to the dance-floor and helped push underground house label 100% Silk onto everyone’s radar. Octo Octa’s finely-tuned marriage of exquisite compositional flare, meticulously-sculpted sonics, and primal dance-floor functionality has earned her a a Red Bull Music Academy residency in Manhattan, which found the producer working closely with Harald Bjork and Throwing Snow, as well as tours across the world that included coveted gigs in top European venues. LNS & Nikoslav Nachhall are staples on Tanzmichmal nights, and tonight they will share the decks together. Sankt Göran is also no stranger to the Globus decks. The bubbling house and garage records of the late 90’s paved the way for Sankt Göran’s musical exploration and brick by brick he constructed his sound, from glimmering disco cuts to throbbing house: one of Gotheburg’s most prolific DJs and promoters, he makes dance floors crack and basements rock, and formed his own label The Free Spirit Society in 2012. After moving to Berlin in 2013 he has quickly forged his way into the German capital’s club scene.
