Tresor. 27 Years. All you need is ears edition
Sat 10 March 2018 - 23:59

Hard to believe it has been 27 years since the founding of Tresor Club in Berlin, a ground-breaking moment in techno history, and we are certainly alive and kicking! In March 1991, like-minded electronic music heads from Berlin and around the world gathered in an abandoned department store treasury to carve out a new form of musical art: techno. Inspired by the Detroit masters, many of them shuttled between the Motor City and Berlin, creating masterpieces that were set on vinyl on the ensuing Tresor Records. And what better way to celebrate than with another “all you need is ears” edition, sponsored by our friend, celebrated Fullpanda founder and talented DJ/producer/composer Dasha Rush. On three floors you are treated to a remarkable night of international electronica. On the Globus Floor two Italian artists: the slow-burning, hypnotic grooves of Donato Dozzy and his comrade Eerie boss Marco Shuttle’s organic eclectic cerebral beats, bookended by Berlin-based Ryba’s intelligent layer of electronic dance music, Dub, Techno, House and everything in between. Downstairs in Tresor: As both creator and DJ, Swedish artist The Source Experience aka Robert Leiner is a major figure in modern music and he gives breathtaking visions of a far higher and different level than just the norm. His masterpiece albums Visions of The Past and Organized Noise catapulted him to legendary status. As both creator and DJ, Robert Leiner gives breathtaking visions of a far higher and different level than just the norm. His commitment to exposing us all to stimulating and challenging music marks Robert Leiner as a major figure in modern music, a fact that this is beyond discussion. We welcome his terrific live set as The Source Experience for our birthday. Add to this another live set, this one from Unit Moebius,  the godfathers of the Hague’s industrial techno/planet rock scene, who evolved gradually from deep alienating lo-fi acid house and crazy rigid jack trax (mixing the best of the detroit and chicago styles) to hard pounding dark industrial techno, freaky techno funk pop and mean minimalistic machine music. Bounce! And yet another exceptional set by Fullpanda head Dasha Rush – an experience that is ultimately searing and gorgeous simultaneously. Argentina’s Emanuel Peralta aka Pulse One, who creates full moments of euphoria and madness in dance-floor thru a mystic music trip completes this Tresor Floor program. In the +4Bar, LADA is a collaborative project between Lars Hemmerling and Dasha Rush, and tonight is certainly not the first time they have brought their hybrid live performance to Tresor Club. A meeting of techno minds, this is a live set you don’t want to miss. Grzegorz Bojanek, also known as Eta Carinae, is the founder of the net label: www.etalabel.com. Since 2007 he has been the artistic producer of Warsaw Electronic Festival. As an artist he consequently introduces field recordings and electroacoustic sounds into his compositions which are the combination of the modern melodics ambient and sometimes noise. Peter Kirn is a producer/DJ, technologist, and journalist. He is a prolific music artist himself, and also builds platforms around new use of technology in music. He has for over a decade run CDM (createdigitalmusic.com) which has evolved into a daily destination for analysis of cutting-edge use of technology in all aspects of music. Peter is also co-creator with engineer James Grahame of the award-winning MeeBlip line of hardware synthesizers. The +4Bar visuals are provided by Stanislav Glazov, who works with 3D graphics since 1996. For 6 years he was employed in German film industry as VFX, Character TD and R&D. Upon returning to Russia he has collaborated with many audiovisual studios as a 3D-artist, VJ and producer. In 2012 Stanislav founded his own studio Visuals.108, specialized in production of club and concert shows, video mapping and interactive installations.

*** Update: unfortunately Donato Dozzy is unable to play in Globus tonight but we have a very special replacement: Borderland feat. Moritz von Oswald & Juan Atkins. A legendary duo with a singular expression of club-orientated electronic music and the freedom of organic musical experimentation. Enjoy this dream team tonight!
