As a founding father of techno, DJ pioneer, quick-mix master, musical ambassador and label owner, Eddie Fowlkes’ impact on dance music is eternally entrenched in the history books. Earning the nickname “Flashin Fowlkes” for his quick mixes, Eddie could be seen performing with three turntables, a mixer, wah-wah pedal and the 808 & 909 drum machines—a new way of DJing that was unique to him and the Deep Space crew he was part of in Detroit in the early days of the scene. His collaborative effort with Mortiz Von Oswald and Thomas Fehlmann (of The Orb) led to the Tresor LP, “The Birth of Technosoul”.  In 1993, Eddie Fowlkes created City Boy Records, which has 23 releases to date—all considered underground classics. Last year, Fowlkes was honored by the Detroit Historical Museum’s exhibit, “Techno: Detroit’s Gift to the World”, documenting his 30+ years of experience in the music industry and inducted into the Detroit Legends Plaza where his handprints are forever set in cement. You are kindly requested NOT to miss Mr. Fowlkes’ set tonight! One of his former projects is the label-making of his filling the gap between hard hitting techno and dark electro, they open a space dedicated to freedom, taking their references in the militant spirit of the early rave scene. They pay tribute to the original underground techno, allowing it to express as a music for the body and the since 2012 as record label. The intent is conceivably just as simple as complex: full control, no compromises, anything is possible – and the same is true for Kemppi’s DJ sets. An emotional techno DJ and diverse, multi-tasking artist, Pär Grindvik re-located to Berlin where also spends much of his time promoting his own label Stockholm LTD.
