Tevo Howard grew up in a musical family in Chicago, and although early musical endeavors seemed promising, he pursued academic studies and it wasn’t until 2004 that he dusted off his 20-year old turntables and began to produce as well. His production for Tracy Thorn “Without You” was released on the Italian label Rebirth in 2010, followed in 2011 his solo album “Pandora’s Box” on the Dutch label Rush Hour, where he has released other tracks. Building a close alliance with Berlin, Tevo Howard still considers himself a die-hard Chicagoan. Andres Ordonez aka Specter is also from Chicago and his singular brand of House, Disco, and Techno grabbed the industry’s attention with his early releases on his own Tetrode Music alongside Damon Lamar, and his work with Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature. Marc Schneider is an influential DJ and producer from Hamburg who has never missed any major development or pivotal release in quality dance music. Marc Schneider can flex is DJ muscles in so many different ways and sensibly guide the crowd through a tasteful and kicking mixture of all things house and techno. Jack Haigthon is a Berlin-based, UK-born DJ, label manager and editor of dusty curios, with a penchant for delicious house tracks, to round out this terrific Globus program. The basement techno dungeon rumbles again with the return of enfant terrible Bill Youngman and his fierce live show. His “Electrostep” 1996 release on Serotonin Records stands as a testament to one man’s love of electro beats. Cutting, splicing and rearranging beats, he crafted an idealized rendition of electronica, much as Drum and Bass producers did with funk breaks. “Electrostep II” followed a year later, further developing the idea. After moving to Berlin in 2011, today Youngman presents his high-energy act worldwide, dropping beats like bombs and weaving tsunamis of synth lines, he tops off his abstract and off-kilter techno sounds with authentic NYC hip hop elements: beat-boxing, freestyling and hyping up the crowd on the mic – thrilling! With both veteran Tresor techno resident and label artist Pacou, and Prosthetic Pressings Scottish DJ Joseph McGeechan as partners in the stampeding beat, you are in for one helluva rockin techno night, excellently brought to a finish by our basement resident Ro.
