Mesak hails from the ground zero of modern Finnish electronic music, a key figure in the 90’s electro scene. His productions always have been shining diamonds and secret weapons for the brave and skilled DJs. Mesak has enjoyed a two-decades career in some of the most fascinating nooks and crannies of the Finnish scene, from clubs to galleries and in different groups and as a solo act, to the ethno rap of Ya Tosiba and the twisted downbeat of the Harmönia label. John Heckle is a DJ, producer and live performer from Merseyside, UK. He has performed several times in our home, under his moniker Head Front Panel, his faster-paced techno alias. Tonight we are pleased to welcome John Heckle to the Globus decks. From the third wave of DJs in Medellín emerged Julianna, a versatile selector who since 2007 is working, from the heart of the city, parties, collectives, artistic initiatives, activism, and above all, many electro and techno. Julianna is founder of DOCE record shop and resident DJ at Mansion Club, both in Medellín. Her capacity of mutability, adapting to different moments of the night, always with risky proposals that go from House to Techno, from Electro to EBM, also passing through breakbeat and Drum n’ Bass, becomes a Latin American reference when it comes to versatility on the dancefloor. Berlin based Axiom started playing electronic music in the mid 90s. Around the 00’s, experimental sounds became the gravitational point of his musical interests. In 2006 he launched with HURON the Creative Commons based netlabel CRAZY LANGUAGE for contemporary electronic music such as Ambient, IDM, Electronica, Glitch, Experimental etc. which accumulated 50 releases so far, also audio/visual releases are to find there. Besides all that, Axiom was working at KILLEKILL Berlin for 7 years, to run parties and the Krake Festival, especially on the genres he grew to love. On the Tresor Floor: Robert Witschakowski aka The Exaltics last performed in our home in 2017 and we welcome back the 20-year veteran of electronic music. Turning his deep cinematic and most of all charismatic electro into his own trademark, during his live performances Robert works with a well known Berlin artist to present his unique version of electro and acid music. Johannes Volk is a producer, DJ and also label owner of Exploration Records, and whose sets combine an open minded, raw and hypnotic techno sound. His first record was released on none other than Jeff Mills’s Axis Records in 2006, followed by a series of vinyl releases on other labels including Patrice Scott’s Sistrum and Steffi’s Dolly imprint. As a DJ, Johannes’s depth of knowledge and ear for a groove is rivaled by few. Sirko Müller is one half of the Tokomak Records company and former a main founding member of Tokomak. He is well known for his diversity in music, where he’s drawing many influences from Detroit. Several high quality releases for some exciting labels like the well known Milnor Modern imprint or Rewired Records have proven Sirko’s skills and taste. Playing back-to-back with him is our skilled resident Mareena: her influences range far and wide, including anything from Detroit and Chicago acid to the more hypnotic take on dub, ambient, and techno. Throughout the years Mareena has performed extensively both locally and internationally, accomplishing the rare feat of earning a reputation solely as a DJ and curator.
