Each time James Ruskin attacks the basement decks of Tresor, we are reminded of the solid thread that ties our ideals and spectrum to this techno icon. Certainly some of Tresor Records’ most cutting-edge UK techno releases carry the Ruskin signature, a style he brought to the world’s attention back in the 90s and continues to mold. With his own Blueprint label he created an internationally renowned platform for talented artists as well as numerous releases that stand on their own as prime examples of the genre. We also welcome the return of talented Austrian DJ Claudia Anderson, whose “Hysteria” EP was the debut release on Marcelus’ Singular label in 2012. In 2017 we were pleased to release on our Tresor Records label, Claudia Anderson’s 4-track EP “Air”. And complementing this line-up is Tresor Records artist Jose Cabrera aka J.C. from Spain, debuting in Tresor on one of the Echoes nights, who expresses a style of simple, raw, stripped down and hypnotic techno. On the Globus Floor, resident Edward McKeithen is Jus-Ed, a DJ, producer and since 2004 Underground Quality label owner. A voyage into the world of DJ Jus-Ed reveals an adventurous, energetic and spiritual style of playing quality house music. Along with his MC skills he brings the club, dance floor, and people into a unforgettable night. In 2001 Jus-Ed teamed up with DJ Vic Money (98.7 Kiss FM ), to create the “Underground Quality” signature under which they began producing parties and help re-grow the underground house community on the East Coast of America. In 2004 Jus-Ed started the now world wide respected Record Label Underground Quality. And after his amazing all-night set last March, tonight you have this major turntablist talent the whole night again behind the Globus decks, this time with invited guest artist Philippe Egger aka Serafin. Anyone who has spent the last two decades in helvetic nightlife has heard the name Serafin before, whether solo, with Rozzo as Mountain People or with Luciano, as co-founder of Cadenza Music. For Zurich’s underground scene, the man is simply a figure of light. As co-operator and audiovisual mastermind of the Zurich cult club Cabaret (2009-2013) and the miniclub Kauz, Serafin has already proven twice that he knows exactly how the best club in town has to look, listen and feel like. Quality before quantity! Serafin‘s performances are deliberately rare. He enjoys the self-determined freedom to play only in places where he feels himself understood content wise. “It’s all about the music, nothing else!” Serafin remains musically true to himself and plays his sound. Hypnotic, abstract, reduced, timeless – underground music without blinkers. Preferably vinyl only.
