Tastemaker, educator, sound designer, and Motor City proponet: Mike Huckaby has done much for Detroit electronic music. The man behind the once legendary Record Time store has gathered an encyclopedic knowledge of music. He is one of those guys who knows all the roots and culture of electronic dance music. He is a person who can see beyond the hype and divisions within the scene. Mike knows exactly what the music is. With numerous highly acclaimed deep house productions and remixes on internationally renowned labels, Mike Huckaby brings the Detroit sound of deep house and techno with him. He knows the balance between deep house and techno like no other. Roman Lindau is a young artist on Mike Dehnert’s distinguished label Fachwerk and music has always coursed through his blood. Even if he weren’t the accomplished producer and respected DJ he is today, the German audiophile would still be spending all his money on the stuff; giving over all his time to the art form. Support for this excellent Globus line-up is from Berlin DJ Michael Nadjé. Each time James Ruskin attacks the basement decks of Tresor, we are reminded of the solid thread that ties our ideals and spectrum to this grand techno artist. Certainly some of Tresor Records’ most crashing UK techno releases carry the Ruskin signature, a style he brought to the world’s attention back in the 90s and continues to mold. With his own Blueprint label he created an internationally renowned platform for talented artists as well as numerous releases that stand on their own as prime examples of the genre. His two top-notch Tresor resident support DJs are J.C. (fresh from his “Endurance” EP release party last month) and Freddy K.
