Milton Baldwin aka DJ Skurge first got noticed DJing for East Detroit’s Cabaret crowd, where UR’s Mad Mike took note of his deep music knowledge. He soon became an integral part of camp UR, playing in Galaxy 2 Galaxy, Interstellar Fugitives, The Aquanauts and joining Juan Atkins in Model 500. He is deeply ingrained in the lore of Detroit city, making him a natural addition to the Underground Resistance folder. His stern dedication to the crafts has seen DJ Skurge take on the role of musical director in many projects, while he somehow found time to release some genre bending EPs of his own while recording with The Aquanauts and the current Model 500 crew. But for all the time spent being the self proclaimed “tall guy in the back, in the shadows” for these musical projects, he is still a DJ at heart. Regular guests Dario and Marco Zenker are the Zenker Brothers, two Munich artists who founded Ilian Tape in 2007, and in 2012 they started playing their notorious B2B sets. The Zenker Brothers notorious B2B sets are rooted in the legacy of Detroit and Techno, House, Dub, Rap Music and Breakbeats, and the two brothers have managed to define their own trademark sound over the years with their own productions. In 2015 they released their first album called Immersion. In Globus: Artur Oleś is Chino, a multi-disciplinary artist whose work incorporates music production, live performance and graphic design. Chino creates machine music par excellence, with a stark, brutalist property to it, but never without a spark of human soul shining through its dense layers. Chino is also one of the founders of Radar – originally a creditable (if short-lived) Kraków club, surviving as a collective and an event series, both crucial to the city’s underground scene. Tom Reid aka Mosca mostly makes and plays underground house and techno. He is both a producer and a DJ, making music that reflects his passion for music that is dark but still sexy, deep and emotional but with energy, dissonant and experimental and raw but still made for the club – and above all it’s got an endless groove. Mosca also has a two hour show on NTS Radio where he gets in the mix and also bring in some friends and heroes for guest mixes. Tunisian artist currently based in Berlin, Cera Khin’s rise is emblematic of the scene’s collaborative and cross-over instincts, an inventive and adventurous DJ & producer with an impressively wide range. Whilst Cera maintains regular slots on Noods radio and NTS, her primary project is her label, LazyTapes. LazyTapes’ intelligent application and deconstruction of a wide range of sounds is reflected in the range of Khin’s energetic and eclectic DJ sets. These frequently taking a winding approach to genre, a journey through techno, mutant dancehall, hardcore & rave.
