In Globus we welcome back our friend and frequent guest Mike Huckaby: the man behind the once legendary Record Time store has gathered an encyclopedic knowledge of music. With numerous highly acclaimed deep house productions and remixes on internationally renowned labels, Mike Huckaby brings the Detroit sound of deep house and techno with him. Possessing all the roots and culture of electronic dance music, he knows the balance between deep house and techno like no other. Furthermore, Mike Huckaby has been touring, DJing, and teaching music production with Native Instruments and Ableton software at Youthville, and around the globe extensively. Croatian artist Ivan Komlinovic was connected to all types of music since early childhood and began his DJ profession in 1993. Judging by music style he’s a techno DJ, but although the majority of his set is techno oriented, he often plays new skool minimalistic techno/house tunes. A sound designer, writer,producer, remixer and mastering engineer, today Ivan Komlinovic is definitely one of the leading artists at Croatian scene. With 40 releases on a number of distinguished international labels, Ivan’s DJ set is journey through techno styles builded around strong musical base and his lively improvisation. Technical skills helps him to add even more dynamic to his musical approach when needed. Skeptik is one of Croatia’s best known club DJ and was instrumental in kick-starting the Croatian club scene in the early 90s with a series of parties and club nights, performing as Pero Fullhouse. Originally inspired by minimalism and Detroit techno, nowadays, his DJing has evolved to a exotic mixture of techno & house with strong influences of Detroit, Chicago and Berlin. He also runs Moondance records, sound signature of his widely appreciated Moondance festival. In 2016. Pero started Skeptik, new alias that presents his darker and more experimental side, blurring boundaries between techno, broken techno, electro, with ambiental & experimental techno. Tresor Club resident Magda El Bayoumi is an artist of Polish and Egyptian origin living in Berlin, Germany. She tends to oscillate between different sub-genres of house and techno: whether she is opening the night, playing in prime time or closing the party, she adjusts easily providing best possible performance and record selection to fit the night. Good classic or fresh and new sound techno and house or versatile electronic productions play an important role in Magda’s choice of music today. There is only one rule: quality. On the Tresor Floor: returning UK artist Paleman is one of the most respected DJs and producers with a view to innovation. His knack for percussive, textural but elegantly driven dance floor music and beyond and has taken him around the world to showcase his unique DJing style and huge array of unreleased experiments. Paleman has a curated solo show “Trenches” on Rinse FM exploring deeper techno sounds and has debuted his textural electronic percussion based live show at Manchester International festival. Paleman seems to constantly be pushing boundaries in both his DJ sets and productions and 2019 seems set to be a flourishing year for the young producer. Of Dutch origin, returning Tresor Club artist and London resident Jeroen Snik aka Cadans has had a decade long dance music career, touring the world and gracing different genres. Cadans is his very private vessel for exploring anything techno related as that has always been a genre dear to his heart. Cadans’ dark organic and grooving output is drip fed to the public through sparse releases, having put out widely supported music with Balans and Clone Basement in the past. Now, all of a sudden, there seem to be a few more releases on the horizon and the Cadans project is due to take on a little weight. OSKAR. is a DJ since 2011, a resident DJ at the PAL parties in Hamburg since the beginning and also organizer of POWER TOWER series in Uebel & Gefährlich.
