Another colossal Klubnacht this weekend! In keeping with Tresor Records’ 24th birthday this month, we welcome our dear friends, power live duo Octave One from Detroit. Virtual legends on club stages over the entire planet, their absolute sizzling performances encompass an entire generation of techno into one concise and incredibly exciting show of their unique sound. The core unit of the band is made up of Lenny Burden and Lawrence Burden (with revolving members of Lynell Burden, Lorne Burden, and Lance Burden), and we had the privilege of releasing Octave One‘s excellent album/DVD “Off The Grid” (Tresor.227) which blew away critics internationally. Also from the Motor City, now Berlin-based Derek Plaslaiko quietly paid his dues on Detroit’s rave circuit, and quickly earned a reputation for forward thinking DJ sets that were clinical, sophisticated and extremely sensual. This combination resulted in a residency for Family, the weekly party at Detroit’s legendary Motor. Some will know Derek as a favorite of the mid-90s Detroit warehouse scene, which lead to a personal invite from Carl Craig to appear at the inaugural Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000. Claire Morgan is an artist with unreserved passion and love for her craft. Her music ranges from deep excursions in ambient to physical, hard-hitting dancefloor trips with wide-reaching appeal: acid, minimal, broken beat, pounding techno, jack tracks, proper electro and Detroit soul are all fair game. Playing both new records and old, Claire Morgan is a curator who will engage and edify you in equal measure. Our choice house resident Handmade perfectly wraps this Globus program. In Tresor: Simon Coup aka Birth Of Frequency is a Paris-based artist from Zadig’s Construct Re-Form group, who fans remember from the label night in 2014. With sets that border on driving-to-frantic rhythms or tantalizing hugeness, this rather secretive artist is perfect for the basement turntables. Riccardo Piovesan aka The Noisemaker comes from Italy. In 2007 he decided to turn his attention towards the construction of a live set, without omitting the vinyl charm in his DJ sets. From 2009 onward, his works appeared on various labels under the name The Noisemaker. In his live set he brings out an hypnotic and aggressive atmosphere. Von Grall is a French artist associated with the Semantica, Annulled and Planet Rhythm labels, expressing terrific futuristic, industrial-laden, hypnotic, experimental techno for modern minds. Who better to support this monster basement program than our frequent Tresor Floor DJ Synthek.
