Returning to the Tresor decks: an iconic artist of the dance music genre, Rolando Ray Rocha aka DJ Rolando grew up in south west Detroit, a Hispanic district, he was heavily influenced by his cultural Latin rhythms and percussion. His early exposure to the techno pioneers of the city found him a member of UR in 1994 and his 1999 produced classic “Jaguar” had the industry taken aback. Rolando eventually left both Underground Resistance and his Los Hermanos project behind, and in 2014 Rolando launched his own label R3 ( Roland Rocha Records) to exclusively release his own music on his label. Having played in the most famous venues and festivals the world over, we are pleased to welcome DJ Rolando to the Tresor decks tonight – don’t miss it! Of Dutch origin, London resident Jeroen Snik aka Cadans has had a decade long dance music career, touring the world and gracing different genres. Cadans is his very private vessel for exploring anything techno related as that has always been a genre dear to his heart. Cadans’ dark organic and grooving output is drip fed to the public through sparse releases, having put out widely supported music with Balans and Clone Basement in the past. Now, all of a sudden, there seem to be a few more releases on the horizon and the Cadans project is due to take on a little weight. Santiago Merino is one of the most prominent figures in Medellín electronic music landscape. He began DJing in 2006 and since then he became one of the favorites in the region. Producer and label owner (Woods N Bass Records) Merino has promoted the local scene by being part of Move doing events with great international guests, resident at Mansion Club and owner of Doce record store. In Globus: Paul Johnson produced and released over 445 E.P’s for some of the most consistent labels like Dance Mania, Cajual, Relief, Dusttraxx, Peacefrog and Moody Recordings which sold over 3.5 million copies of his 1999’s hit record ‘Get Get Down’ worldwide. His remix work and collaborations with Destiny’s Child, Jon B, Steve “Silk” Hurley, DJ Skip, Ce Ce Peniston, Daft Punk, DJ Sneak, K-Alexi, Stacy Kidd, Joey Beltram, Green Velvet, Armando and Ron Trent made its way into all the big jocks boxes and remain there to this day. Paul Johnson’s distinctive rhythmic and soulful sound is what keeps house music fans craving for more. There is reason for Paul being mentioned as the very first artist in Daft Punk’s teachers. Detroit artist Ash Lauryn has been receiving quite some publicity, breaking through last year. Now Atlanta-based, Ash is now a regular fixture on the USA circuit playing with acts like Kai Alce, Omar S and Derrick May who have been pushing and supporting her. Mix Mag + DJ mag have highlighted her as a DJ to watch, and she also has a monthly NTS radio show. Dimensions festival selected Ash Lauryn as 1 of the DJs to watch in their new DJ directory and she played at Dimensions last year as a resident DJ for the festival. Another artist who we always welcome back to our home is Richard Zepezauer, owner of the label “n s y d e”, providing him with his own personal way of keeping this focus alive. The broad range displayed in his DJ sets testifies of his lifelong passion for music and record digging, and his recent cooperation with various renowned 20th century classics ensembles is a testament of Richard Zepezauer‘s diversity.
