Scan 7 is a mysterious techno collective in Detroit consisting of seven artists. The group always wears masks when performing. Originally born in the late 80′s, Scan 7′s first release, “Voices Beyond”, came out on the Submerge compilation, “Escape Into The Void”. All Scan 7 releases are laced with a deep dark dose of classic Detroit style techno, embedded within the imprints of the tradement Scan 7 drums. Synonymous with Detroit, Techno, and Tresor, Scan 7 have remained protagonists of the Berlin-Detroit axis since it was first forged in the sweaty obsidian of the club’s original Wertheim vault home. In 1996 the collective released the explosive “Dark Territory” album (Tresor.057) and over 20 years later, the masked techno collective returned to our label with ‘The Resistance EP’. We welcome these techno chameleons Scan 7 during our 28th birthday month. we welcome back Italians Salvatore Iannotta & Giuseppe Salone aka Subradeon: after sponsoring various events in their home country, they moved to Berlin in 2013. February 2016 marked their official debut with the release of their first digital release, “South Connection” on Detroit’s Motech Records. The result is Subradeon’s sound that recalls Detroit Techno, but at the same time also emphasizes the new European sounds. One thing is clear, from the first listen one can appreciate their innovative ability, their creativity in mixing their styles, honouring the pure techno sound with the soul of Motown combined with elements that range from hip hop to jazz, from funk to soul. Santonio Echols is member of the first generation of Techno Producers to emerge from Detroit, MI, in the late 1980’s. His discography spans 1987 to date and he is currently in production on the Liz Torres “Mind Games – Remix” on Third Ear Recordings. Echols is well known for his role in the famed duo “Reese & Santonio,” who are responsible for timeless underground classics spanning 1987-89, “The Sound/ How To Play Our Music, Bounce Your Body to the Box, Truth of Self Evidence and the internationally renowned “Rock to the Beat” which was distributed in 1988 on the UK label “ffrr” (Full Frequency Range Recordings). A towering figure in Detroit history, with a plethora of excellent releases and collaborations, we welcome Santonio Echols to the Globus decks. Downstairs in Tresor: Brendan Gillen aka BMG is founder of Ectomorph, Interdimensional Transmissions, and the No Way Back parties, musician and DJ, as well as co host of the biweekly Interdimensional Transmissions Radio show on Red Bull Radio. BMG’s sets effortlessly combine a multitude of seemingly disparate genres into a solid sound system sensation – pure transcendent psychedelic wizardry, a polymath or sonic alchemist or something. Idealism is the driving force behind all of Milton Bradley’s thoughts and moves – a fact especially prevalent in his musical output. With years of experience in Berlin’s electronic music scene, Bradley has built up a reputation as a decisive and forward-thinking artist with a versatile yet thriving sound. “Do Not Resist the Beat!” was the label he founded in 2008 and aside from much production work and touring worldwide, Bradley started a collaboration with Grounded Theory associate and good friend Henning Baer. To date they have released four highly acclaimed EPs presenting raw and effective quality techno. Milton Bradley has become one of the most promising producers within the genre, whose dystopian, industrial influenced and tripping sounds are also representative of his internationally acclaimed DJ sets. Born and raised in Mexico, Ricardo Garduno, is no stranger to the global Techno industry. Founder and co-manager of Illegal Alien Records in 2007, one of the most respectable Techno imprints in the world to date, based in Mexico. He has many successful productions released on some of the most reputable Techno labels at the moment and also has numerous gigs on some of the most important clubs and festivals around the world. Tresor Club resident Magda El Bayoumi is an artist of Polish and Egyptian origin living in Berlin, Germany. She tends to oscillate between different sub-genres of house and techno: whether she is opening the night, playing in prime time or closing the party, she adjusts easily providing best possible performance and record selection to fit the night. Good classic or fresh and new sound techno and house or versatile electronic productions play an important role in Magda’s choice of music today. There is only one rule: quality.
