Returning artist Jonathan “Stave” Krohn aka Stave is known together with Karl P. Meier under the name Talker, appearing on the esteemed Downwards imprint. Krohn/Stave’s highest solo profile release to date is the After The Social EP for Shapednoise’s Repitch Recordings. Together they join a roster of the Downwards label’s artists, defining a sound of assaults that unleash a torrent of minimal and repetitive grooves perfectly reflecting their harsh and bleak industrial location in the midlands. We welcome back Stave tonight with another fantastic live set in the Tresor basement. Ron Morelli, the L.I.E.S. label founder, has given a simple answer as to why he started the label: his friends were making great tracks that wouldn’t have otherwise come out. Founded in 2010, L.I.E.S. quickly rose to critical acclaim among music critics and fans, its 12″ vinyl releases frequently quickly selling out after influential music stores like Hard Wax began to champion the label. Ron’s February 2018 track on the “Waves Of The Future” compilation, on Alessandro Adriani’s Mannequin label, is an excellent taster of this talented artist who we have welcomed to the Tresor decks on numerous occasions. Ori Itshaki & Doron “Charly” Mastey are TV.OUT, from Tel-Aviv, co-founders and run their leftfield, techno-oriented Parallax Records with Yogg & Pharaoh. Charly is also a co-founder of a club in Tel-Aviv called ‘Alphabet’. Their sound has changed quite a lot through the years, from new wave to house to electro and much more. They have also released on L.I.E.S. as well as on Fuck Reality from Hamburg’s Smallpeople crew. Expect to hear more from this talented duo. Ciarra Black is a U.S.-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer, Pendulum Recordings founder and co-founder of the No-Tech label and event series since 2013. In Philadelphia she formed the duo Appetite with Jane Chardiet (Ascetic House) and began DJing at local underground dance venues. Ciarra Black moved to New York in 2012, quickly becoming a sought-after booking at venues such as Bossa Nova Civic Club, Good Room and various warehouse raves throughout Brooklyn. Her DJ sets combine several elements of her multi-faceted influences — driving kicks, midwestern rave, hypnotic industrial, and experimental synth and noise elements. Her live hardware sets are one-of-a-kind improvised soundscapes – rhythmic and noisy, visceral and heady, channeling her influences past, present, and future into a sound that is truly her own. In Globus: Returning DJ Anna Haleta needs no introduction in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. She is running successfully her own event (Pacotek*) for 14 years which was the 1st promoter to bring in many great DJs for the 1st time to Israel. Anna is a real pioneer in the scene there and has also garnered fans in venues across Europe as well. Known for her exceptional records selection and intuitive balancing on the line between genres, Anna Haleta turns her signature style into sets of trippy sophisticated illusion. Her main tool is magic and that’s how she has witched the local scene into her religion, where house, techno and electro are the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Andrew James Gustav‘s sets showcase a devotion to the craft of DJing that’s paralleled by few of his contemporaries. Initially under the spell of US house and German minimal, and always influenced by a long-lasting love for UK garage, Andrew’s sound has developed a tougher edge, encompassing vintage tech house, breakbeat, electro and quality techno from all eras and geographies. As well as touring internationally, Andrew is resident DJ at London-based Art of Dark and co-runs its record label offshoot with party founder Colin Chiddle. Jasen Loveland is a mercurial force, he has a very active mind and is a very skilled artist in multiple mediums. His dedication is constantly inspiring. Acid Series Vol. 1 is Jasen Loveland‘s debut release on International Transmissions, in celebration of No Way Back’s 10 years. Affiliated also with Acid Camp and NYC’s Bunker (for which a track is included on the 15 Years of The Bunker compilation released in 2018, that hints at a musical mind steeped in classic dance-music psychedelia), we welcome this talented DJ to the Globus decks.
