Uun is a Detroit-based techno artist known for the intensity of both his productions and live performances. Both his early work as a band member and his current output as a techno performer share a common exploration of darkness both in mood and in execution. Hard Wax described Uun’s sound as a “straight ahead techno juggernaut.” Although he has been producing and performing since 2012, Uun’s profile has recently risen substantially, with releases on Mord, Soma, and Modularz. Resident Advisor referred to this ability to work within many different imprints and styles as “quietly infiltrating techno”. His live performance is an extension of hard working music first ethos. In this format Uun constructs thousands of studio hours into a powerful contained experience. He is also involved in the label and event series Modern Cathedrals; known for their eerie broken beat techno and Eden events. Returning artist and Modularz founder Developer is one of a few active DJ/Producers that emerged from the Los Angeles techno scene in the early 1990’s. After ending his residency as a DJ on radio station 88.7FM kspc in 1995, Developer co-founded and managed the first dedicated techno distribution company on the west coast “Entity Music Distribution”. Developer gained much of his acclaim and extensive performance history from his strong marathon sets and quick programming skills as well as the ability of playing 50 tracks per hour on 3 turntables with effect processor and sampler. Developer continues to thrive as one of the most interesting techno mixmasters from the Americas as well as the birth of his label Moduarz which features productions and remixes from some of his early contemporaries in Los Angeles as well as a few established and emerging talents from around the world. Returning to the decks is YYYY, a mysterious duo from Argentina with little personal information, but their music speaks for itself while remaining definitely underground. Strange textures, industrial sounds, lost voices in the background, and an intensely hypnotic groove. Olivia Mendez caught the attention of numerous organizers and artists while playing at a free party that had brought together a couple of thousand visitors in the chapel of an abandoned school, and her DJ career began. In 2015, Olivia moved to Berlin and her priorities began to evolve. Her own work as an artist has gradually grown and she has turned her focus to this aspect of her life. In 2016, she became a resident at the event series ‘Particules’ in Lyon, who organize parties in both clubs as big event locations. As an event organizer in Lyon, Olivia was the first to offer longer sets ( 4hrs+) for her parties. This year Olivia obtained a diploma in sound engineering and has begun to work on a series of future releases. DJ Deep is a techno and house producer, DJ and frequent guest in our home. Since 2003 he has run the Deeply Rooted label, formerly Deeply Rooted House, and House Music Records, shining a spotlight on true-to-its roots house and techno records. A reformat in 2015 and DJ Deep’s latest evolution in expression sees him join forces with Roman Poncet as Sergie Rezza, an open-minded experimentation with a standout album on Desire Records and performances including Berlin Atonal. Twenty years in, from house to techno and everything in between, DJ Deep has immersed himself in the ebb and flows of music, be it NY, Chicago, Detroit or today’s current pulsating waves. We welcome back Luke Hess* who continues to be a shining star out of Detroit. He has celebrated EPs out on Omar S’ FXHE, Carl Craig’s Planet-e, Echocord and many more. His Detroit label DeepLabs has been the center for his own deeply personal projects. With over 15 years of DJ experience and many notable live sets across the world, Luke is regarded as a perfectionist on stage. Hess is known to layer his sets in a very detailed, hypnotic, & soulful manner. St. Concrete released ‘Listen Past Me’ in November 2019, the first release with the alias used by Altstadt Echo for more dub- and Detroit-influenced techno with a less somber tone than his previous work. Following the release of his debut album on the SEMANTICA label, Altstadt Echo felt it was time to take a step back and explore other facets of deep techno. The specific idea to create early-in-the-night dub techno tracks came during a soundcheck at Tresor in July 2019.

*** Due to unforeseen circumstances Luke Hess had to cancel his appearance. Don Williams will replace him tonight! Don Williams is the founder and owner of Mojuba & A.R.T.less Records and one half of the Tokomak Records company. Williams is the creative force behind these imprints and Tokomak’s main founding member. His musical influences range from Classic, Funk and Jazz via Drum & Bass and Trip Hop to his beloved Detroit Techno and US House, which can be still enjoyed throughout his DJ sets.
