Electric Indigo, DJ, musician and composer, has rocked clubs and festivals in 37 countries for more than 25 years. She started her DJ career in 1989 in Vienna and worked at the legendary Hard Wax record store in Berlin from 1993 to 1996. In 1998, she created female:pressure, an international database for female artists in the fields of electronic music and digital arts which got an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica 2009. In 2012, Electric Indigo received the ‘oustanding artist award’ in the category Computer Music and the national grant for composition 2013 from the Austrian Ministry for Arts and Culture. Aside from her ingenious club sets, she makes music for concert spaces, sound installations and occasionally for stage plays and short films. In her compositions and live performances, she emphasizes the spatial-temporal placement of subtly elaborated sounds and structures, often generated from speech recordings. In 2015 the artist known as Miss Sunshine released The Mood Module EP on the respected Deeply Rooted Records, under a new alias Insolate. Four tracks of excellent sophisticated urban techno, hints of nods towards minimal and Detroit while keeping her foot in Europe. Insolate‘s sets are packed with an individual style, groove and technique that have become her trademark. In Globus, Roman Lindau is a young artist on Mike Dehnert’s Berlin label Fachwerk and music has always coursed through his blood. Even if he weren’t the accomplished producer and respected DJ he is today, the German audiophile would still be spending all his money on the stuff; giving over all his time to the art form. Brothers In Love is a Berlin label featuring excellent house tunes by a talented group of artists. Members Michael Nadjé and Ricardo Esposito have released tracks on the label but it is the sublime BIL Podcast #2 that feature the two creating house music magic together – something we await with pleasure tonight. Our skilled resident turnatblist Reka rounds out this excellent Saturday Globus line-up.
