Founded in 2006, Workshop is a German minimal house and techno label located in Berlin, with an eclectic array of talent and releases charted by hundreds of international artists. Since mid 1990’s Benjamin Brunn has been producing music, in 2000 he moved to England where he collaborated with Dave Wheels, formerly of Higher Intelligence Agency. Now based in Hamburg, the majority of Benjamin’s music is based on the sound of the Nord Modular, a virtual- modular synthesizer that has accompanied him since 1999, using it live together with a drummachine without laptop. Jens Kuhn is Workshop founder Lowtec, someone who seems to be always around since electronic music started to exist. A low-profile artist, his buddies from Rand Muzik, Smallville or Nonplus Records are well connected to him as much as he always promotes artists on his labels (Outtolunch, Workshop Records), these days Lowtec quite often takes part in Workshop label events together with Kassem Mosse and Even Tuell as live act and DJ. Indeed Mr. Tuell joins the roster tonight: he co-runs the Workshop label with Lowtec. Tuell held a DJ residency at Robert Johnson from early on where developed his deep and powerful trademark style. He always likes to shed some light on the b-side sounds, and he is always aiming for innovation. Richard Zepezauer’s label “n s y d e” is his own personal way of keeping this focus alive. The broad range displayed in his DJ sets testifies of his lifelong passion for music and record digging, and his recent cooperation with various renowned 20th century classics ensembles is a testament of Richard Zepezauer‘s diversity. In Tresor: always behind new musical formulas, always digging in the classical sound of techno, returning guest artist Marcos Leiras aka Leiras is a persistent DJ, producer and live performer settled in Berlin. After releasing music under several aliases and different labels around the world, he plays now as Leiras and created the Ownlife platform, a new project, focused on the mental and hypnotic side of techno. In the last few years Argentinian Jonas Kopp has gained and produced a first-rate reputation, with his discography spread out not only over top international labels, but also his connection to Tresor Club, where Jonas Kopp has regularly played over the last few years, being cemented with the release of his first full-length album on Tresor Records: “Beyond The Hypnosis” in 2014, and we welcome him back to the decks. Pfirter is one of Argentina’s finest techno exports. Having released on top international labels, performed at the best international festivals and clubs, Pfirter hones a sound that is at once dark and uplifting, old school and fresh: he’s gradually evolved into a club music all-rounder, DJing, producing and running one of techno’s brightest imprints, MindTrip. Joining the basement crew is Jose Cabrera aka J.C. from Spain, whose style of simple, raw, stripped down and hypnotic techno is always welcome by our Tresor dungeon fans.
