Cab Drivers is the duo project of Berlin artists Daniel Paul & Jens Augustowsky aka Sky. In 1994 they founded Cabinet Records and with that they became among the first to forge a new aesthetic in house music, made of chasing, advanced 909 programming, clean, minimalist sound design and subtle lines of funk and latin melodies. Cab Drivers’ very infectious and engaging sound has been reflected on innumerous Cabinet releases and on other respected labels. Subb-an is a dynamic producer with a firm understanding of what it takes to move a dancefloor. Subb-an’s music has more than a little mystery about it. His productions are deep, raw, soul heavy and although always achingly relevant, glance backwards through a long lineage of house masters. s a DJ, his sets pass between house and deep techno, balancing swing, groove and potent bottom end notes. With over twenty five releases under their belt, in 2009 Subb-an and Adam Shelton set up their own ‘One Records’ label as a platform for their own productions alongside tracks from other respected artists. Cabinet artist Hans Schaaf aka DJ Honesty joins the line-uptonight: a DJ and producer since early nineties, Honesty‘s first release was on the legendary Space Teddy label, followed by releases on Cabinet Records and a collaboration with Daniel Paul. Rufus is to date one of the most forward-thinking and innovative DJs to emerge from the Italian electronic music scene. His restless research into both old school and the freshest forms of dance music have inspired many Italian artists gravitating around the Bosconi Records circuit and the Florence scene. Rufus’s DJ sets focus on open-minded positive music, funky vibes, downbeat, garage-house deep and jackin house. Techno can do a lot, if you let it do so: that is Alex Bau‘s credo, and inspired the name of his very intelligent album “Credo” and the very intelligent label Credo. The “Bavarian techno machine” or “Mr. Gringotechno” is literally all over the electronic dance music spectrum, having also started the label “Toneman” back in 2000 and also started to his solo productions for labels like Chris Liebing`s CLR or the Montreal based label “Default Recordings”. Very much the chameleon, Alex Bau has been voted amongst the best DJ`s in Germany more than once. Vault Series label head Subjected gives strong evidence that the label is overwhelmingly aspiring as a contemporary techno platform. Deep in the underground, Subjected stands for distinctly deep, identifiable techno. Designed in the shadows, to be consumed in the darkness. Dinamite is a Spanish DJ whose set immerses us in a space trip dominated by hypnotic and heavy electronic environments in the same harmonic code, intelligible techno ruled by a musical selection capability only available for accurately and experienced ears. A rock solid set by our resident HGR completes this techno-powered basement program.
