Matt Flanagan is the man behind DeFeKT and ESS (Electronic Speech Systems). He  has been a tireless advocate of true electro and techno over the last number of years, steadily honing his hardware based sound that has earned him admirers all through the electronic music community. DeFeKT released a 8 track mini album in 2010 which gained great support from Dave Clarke. Since then a slew of 12″ Eps and remix’s have emerged under the DeFeKT and ESS guise on many different labels. His eager abuse of analog drum machines and modular synths is a breath of fresh air in today’s laptop dominated scene. Tom Russell is Truss, a Welsh techno artist who puts a highly unique and raw, raunchy touch to his harde-edged primal-to-industrial sounds, that reach vast edges of a techno spectrum. With influences from Berlin early techno pioneers to the 90s UK New School à la Ruskin, Truss also grabbed a lot of deserved attention for his jams with Perc. Last seen in our club in 2015, Dutch artist Charlton’s inventive style of producing tracks combined techno from “the old days” with his own dark off-beat rhythms. Adding nasty razor-sharp and hypnotizing acid basslines to this creating a truly unique, ‘Charlton’ sound had a great impact on Dutch techno scene. He was soon playing all over the place with with gigs and residencies across Holland and has since then played at various cutting-edge parties such as Awakenings, Heroes of Techno, Q base, Detatched etc. Now based in London, Charlton’s first ever EP “Slowdown Basterd” received top reviews when it came out in August 2010 on M_Rec. British-born, Auckland-based producer/DJ Keepsakes has been making a bit of noise in the underground techno scene over the past couple of years. After initially releasing music via Poland’s Sequel One, Keepsakes then secured EPs on Melbourne’s Green Fetish Records and Ireland’s Variance, as well as releasing tracks on compilations through Germany’s Mindcut and L.A.-based label TXTRL. Upstairs in Globus, Patrice Scott is one of Detroit’s top producers of deep house and techno music and a frequent guest in our home. Substance, quality, and diversity are the driving forces behind this artist who has touched the world by storm in the early stages of his career. Patrice Scott has a fascination and desire to be anything but the norm. Over the years he has focused more and more on his studio production skills and his label Sistrum, which celebrated it’s 10th anniversary in 2016. Kosta Athanassiadis is XDB, whose deep and intensive love for electronic music was his driving force to start a DJ career in 1993. In 2006 XDB founded his own record label „Metrolux“ on which he has released several EPs, creating a reputation for his distinctive sound design. We also welcome back frequent guest DJ Sarah Miles, co-founder & chief, DJ & live host at Berlin Community Radio, who plays in numerous Berlin underground locations and whose sets surprise and delight with their spectrum of sophistication in dance club mixing. With Handmade’s solid house music support, this line-up serves up hotness on the dancefloor.
