The Globus Floor gets a shot of excellence: Rework, the production outfit of Daniel Varga, Michael Kuebler and Sascha Hedgehog, earned their dance music stripes with a series of strong releases, most notably on Frankfurt-based techno institution Playhouse. The Stuttgart project released their second long player “Pleasure Is Pretty” in 2007 and describe their musical aesthetic as “cabaret-independent-house”, forging a distinct sound that combines icy minimal structures with catchy euro-girl vocals, Anglo-French funk antics and a dash of dancefloor melancholy. A new appearance on the Items & Things label finds them quite different and fresh with a very own rock’n’roll attitude to bomb the dancefloors with their personal little dreams and horrors. Camea is a New York DJane, producer and composer of excellent sophisticated techno and micro-house sounds, releases on the prominent BPitch Control label and is also the founder of the distinguished Clink Recordings, that counts among its illustrious artist roster the likes of Tony Rohr or Tim Xavier. Soma’s Mark Henning is also a welcome guest: somewhere between house and techno, with a healthy dose of funk, swing, deepness and weirdness – Mark provides all the required ingredients to have the crowds busting crazy moves on the dancefloor with this infectious vibe. Ibadan’s Nikolaos Raptis aka Quell enlarges this great line-up with his style ranging from mid tempo deep house and afro-beat house/techno, to straight up Chicago/SF jackin’ house. The Tresor Floor welcomes UK artist Alan Fitzpatrick, a DJ holding high status as a universally respected and in-demand producer and who remains a core Drumcode artist internationally respected as he tours the world. His style stands out from the norm which enables him to collaborate with some of the genre’s most famous DJs. Australian Sebastian Bayne is a DJ, producer and label owner. His music is fast gaining the support of his peers as it is developing into his unique take on techno. Also recognized for his part in pioneering electronic dance music in Beijing and mainland China, he finds inspiration the world over. Owner of 030 Recordings Micol Danieli and the broken rhythms, industrial and deep sounds of Catabrian artist P.E.A.R.L. frame this wicked basement program.
