Cab Drivers is the duo project of Berlin artists Daniel Paul & Jens Augustowsky aka Sky. In 1994 they founded Cabinet Records and with that they became among the first to forge a new esthetic in house music, made of chasing, advanced 909 programming, clean, minimalistic sound design and subtle lines of funk and latin melodies. Their very infectious and engaging sound has been reflected on innumerous Cabinet releases as well on respected labels such as Sonar Kollektiv, Pokerflat and Highgrade. Tonight they will spice the dancefloor with a terrific live set. Cabinet artist Hans Schaaf aka DJ Honesty is invited on the decks: a DJ and producer since early nineties, Honesty‘s first release was on the legendary Space Teddy label, followed by releases on Cabinet Records and a collaboration with Daniel Paul. In 2004 Audio Werner and friends created the label “Hartchef Discos”. Evolving a selfmade recording of hundreds of crickets into a no.1 record was the first big leap into the world of housemusic production. (“Zwrtshak Drive”, Hartchef Discos 2004). From then on he has released on Perlon, Circus Company, Hello?Repeat, Minibar and of course Hartchef whilst never losing sense of his own influences and delicate approach to the production of electronic dance music. Frequent guest DJ Barbara Preisinger is also on the program, who heads her own vinyl label Slice Of Life. From her hometown of Munich to success in Berlin, she founded first the “scape” label with Stefan Betke aka Pole and became a regular DJ in many Berlin clubs. Her passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno – often incorporating the music of friends and related artists such Mike Huckaby, Baaz, The Mole, Daniel Bell, Dimbiman aka DJ Zip. The Tresor Floor welcomes back the legendary Soma artists from Scotland Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle aka Slam. The duo instigated Glasgow’s underground House music scene in the late 1980s, going on to be instrumental in the explosion of the UK Techno scene, and their quarter of a century of exploits have seen them travel far and wide, leaving scorch marks on dance floors everywhere while taking their uncompromising vision of Techno around the world. With over 400 releases and rising, Slam‘s exquisite electronica is a milestone of the genre. Providing excellent turntable support is Dinamite, whose dark and forceful beats with retro touch combine styles that are both dynamic and groovy; and our energy-driven resident HGR.
