Tresor meets Deep In The Box
Sat 18 May 2019 - 23:59

Tresor Club resident DJ Barbara Preisinger, who heads her own vinyl label Slice Of Life, presents her Deep In The Box evenings in Tresor once a month, whole nights of warm, kicking house and deep techno with cutting-edge international house DJs, something that fans of the night have come to thoroughly enjoy. From her hometown of Munich to success in Berlin, Barbara founded first the “scape”  label with Stefan Betke aka Pole and became a regular DJ in many Berlin clubs. Her passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno – often incorporating the music of many notable guest friends and artists. Thomas Franzmann aka Zip aka Dimbiman, co-founder of the label Perlon, is familiar with the dancefloors around the world and famous for his tremendous minimal shifts within the 4/4 scheme. In 1997 he and Markus Nikolai founded the Perlon label, on which he has released under the pseudonyms Dimbiman, Pantytec (with Sammy Dee) and Narcotic Syntax (with James Dean Brown). Zip has recorded with Baby Ford, is a regular guest DJ in clubs around the world and holds several residencies. He participates in the Narod Niki project, occasional collective laptop live jams initiated by Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. Adam Longman Parker aka Afriqua crafts his mercurial productions with an eye to the future and an ear to the past. His early productions as Afriqua caught the attention of independent labels including 2nd Drop Records, Souvenir, and All Inn, where he explored sounds both firmly within the house/techno sphere and unmistakably beyond it. 2017 marked the beginning of an exclusive relationship with R&S Records, where Afriqua’s tracks exemplify his approach to production: weaving deep samples into spacey sonic tapestries, honoring black heritage while propelling it into the future. On the Tresor Floor: Returning artist and vinyl-only master, Sunil Sharpe is an Irishman who is easily of the most skilled vinyl DJs out there, carefully selecting music spanning 3 decades and leaving you time and time again with your jaw to the floor. He has been considered one of the Ireland’s best techno DJs for the best part of a decade, but his growing following has meant you’re now as likely to find him at various international venues as you are anywhere in the Irish capital. Over the years Sunil Sharpe has developed an outstanding talent for mixing records, sometimes cutting between 30 tracks or more in the space of an hour. Binny is a techno DJ/Producer from the UK whose journey as a solo artist started with a release on Orbis Records. Since then he has gone on to release a further three EPs for Orbis, as well as additional releases on a string of international labels. His sets take you from Detroit to Birmingham and stopping everywhere in-between. Binny’s sound is tough, hypnotic, old school and most of all – uncompromising. He also is a founding member of the Phantom Planet Outlaws with John Heckle and Mark Forshaw, a union which has produced EPs on both Tabernacle and Apartment Records. Together these guys now run a label called “Boss Tracks” to exclusively release Phantom Planet Outlaws material. At 23, artist Christopher Joseph moved to Berlin and  launched his own Flexxseal label, and released his most notable EP to date, “Mind at Sea” on Hardwax. Christopher Joseph’s unique DJ sets blend techno with a patchwork of electronic music from various movements and styles. Bridging the gaps between “classic” and “contemporary”, he expresses the concept of music as a continuation, a narrative, and leaves no space for pretentious judgement. Marcus is an Italian DJ based in Berlin for a few years. For Marcus techno is a statement of love and a way of life, techno is the energy of every day, techno is technology, techno is his voice when he plays. His DJ sets are characterized by raw and dirty groove, industrial sounds and with a strong energy impact to the floor and the people, knowing exactly what they want as a DJ coming from the dancefloor as he is.
