Tresor meets Deep In The Box
Sat 21 March 2020 - 23:59

Tresor Club resident DJ Barbara Preisinger, who heads her own vinyl label Slice Of Life, curates her Deep In The Box evenings regularly in Tresor, whole nights of warm, kicking house and deep techno with cutting-edge international house DJs, something that fans of the night have come to thoroughly enjoy. From her hometown of Munich to success in Berlin, Barbara founded first the “scape”  label with Stefan Betke aka Pole and became a regular DJ in many Berlin clubs. Autumn 2009 Barbara Preisinger founded the 12inch vinyl label Slices Of Life which is focused on organic sounding and diverse club music. Her passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno – often incorporating the music of many notable guest friends and artists. Tonight’s guests: Ben Vedren’s work is well-recognized and highly acclaimed through his production & live/DJ performances around the world. He is co-founder of Reduce Records and has been a permanent resident of the infamous club Concrete in Paris. Ben has an impressive production catalog, including releases on Perlon, Minibar, Balance, Concrete Music, Prospector, Eklo, 240 volts, Djebali, among others. His first 2012 EP on Minibar “I Know You Know” received unanimous success and pushed him to the front of the scene. His live performances fascinate and captivate with his unique energy, groove, generosity, sensibility and uncommon talent with machines. Ben Vedren is an artist that has mastered the skill to make the listener experience this feeling of “We Are One”. He is an experienced traveling DJ, playing gigs throughout the world at top venues and festivals. Together with Chez Damier, they produce music under the project H2H (Heart 2 Heart), where they experiment with music and also teach and encourage new talents, and Ben also collaborates with Leiris, a longtime music partner under the alias Monkey Nenufar. Fumiya Tanaka has been regarded as one of the legendary DJ/artists in Techno for over 20 years. He has been doing numerous projects such as his private label “Torema Records”, “op.disc” (co-running with Yoshihiro Hanno aka Radiq), he also runs his own label called “Sundance” and his famous party “Chaos” (in Tokyo and Osaka). Through his long running career, he has been successfully expressing the possibilities of music. Fumiya is also a member of the Tresor Records family (Tresor.169, Tresor.176). His unique style is focused on “minimal” house and techno, but through his sets, he pulls out the beauty, the depth and the thickness of music and turns “minimal” into “maximum”. This is one of the reasons why he is still at the top. For 15 years, every weekend Katie Drover sat comfortably at the controls in one of Melbourne’s thriving clubbing spots with the dancefloor hanging on her every move. Today, after following her heart and ears to the other side of the world, Katie Drover is DJing, writing music and running the record label Dokutoku Records in Berlin. Downstairs in Tresor: Brenecki is a producer, sound designer, and DJ currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He initially made a name for himself releasing harsh genre-defying output with Darko Kolar (Katran) as Ontal. As his sound evolved to encompass the numerous influences acquired during his decade-long musical journey, Brenecki‘s newest productions found its home on labels such as Midnight Shift and Natural Sciences. Ron Morelli, the L.I.E.S. label founder, has given a simple answer as to why he started the label: his friends were making great tracks that wouldn’t have otherwise come out. Founded in 2010, L.I.E.S. quickly rose to critical acclaim among music critics and fans, its 12″ vinyl releases frequently quickly selling out after influential music stores like Hard Wax began to champion the label. Ron’s February 2018 track on the “Waves Of The Future” compilation, on Alessandro Adriani’s Mannequin label, is an excellent taster of this talented artist who we have welcomed to the Tresor decks time and again. Described as a love affair with machines and human error Berlin-based producer/DJ Douglas Lee’s project An-i is the outcome of melding the aesthetics of 80’s minimal synth and punk attitudes alongside the thumping forward momentum of techno. An-i gained reputation as a DJ following a move to New York City in early 2000s’ where he played an integral part in NYC’s then burgeoning mutant disco scene. Lee released several solo EP’s before landing on Veronica Vasickas MinimalWave/Cititrax where Lee foregrounded his techno influences. Whilst An-I focuses on punk affected iterations of techno, Lee’s DJ sessions are capable of leading and elevating dance floors through various states of mind. An-i can confidently inspire moods and states of abandon only enabled by the experience gained from over two decades of digging and piloting dance floors globally. After spending his youth in Gran Canaria, southern Spain, Tresor DJ and New Faces curator Artik sank himself into the cold industrial atmosphere of Berlin. Unsettling ambience and hammering percussion break up the rhythms that define Artik as an artist. Sound engineer and lover of the most purist electronic music, he has been a frequent guest in our home, with his uncompromising sound, and his music was also recently released on Monolith Records in Berlin.
