Tresor meets Deep in the Box
Fri 08 July 2016 - 23:59

Back in our home: Deep In The Box is a whole night of warm, kicking house and deep techno, hosted by Barbara Preisinger since 2009. The Slices Of Life label owner’s passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno all the while remaining open towards interesting and outstanding tunes that make you move. Manning the decks herself with her signature style, Barbara Preisinger welcomes three invited guests: Don Williams is the founder and owner of Mojuba & A.R.T.less Records and one half of the Tokomak Records company. He is the creative force behind these imprints and Tokomak’s main founding member. His musical influences ranges from Classic, Funk and Jazz via Drum & Bass and Trip Hop to his beloved Detroit Techno and US House, which can be still enjoyed throughout his DJ-Sets. After a few releases on the legendary Pure Plastic imprint, Don Williams delivers tracks of his own brand of funk on labels like Rewired, Styrax Leaves and 100% Pure; returning Canadian artist Colin de la Plante aka The Mole made a name for himself in the Montreal scene, including 7 years of residency at the Laika bar and numerous appearances at the MUTEK Festival, before he eventually decided to call Berlin his home and bring to fruition his own label Maybe Tomorrow (co-run by Jon Berry of Kompakt). Dresden DJ Spunky takes the decks for a hot house set ride and the night sizzles… The basement Tresor Floor welcomes the Munich artists Dario and Marco Zenker aka the Zenker Brothers back to the decks. Ilian Tape was founded in 2007 by the Zenker Brothers together with Mueller. Dario & Marco are responsible for the musical part, while Mueller does all the graphic work. The label has picked up substantial international artists and it’s always a pleasure to have them back in our home. Johannes Volk is a producer, DJ and also label owner of Exploration Records, and whose sets combine an open minded, raw and hypnotic techno sound. His first record was released on none other than Jeff Mills’s Axis Records in 2006, followed by a series of vinyl releases on other labels including Patrice Scott’s Sistrum and Steffi’s Dolly imprint. As a DJ, Johannes’s depth of knowledge and ear for a groove is rivaled by few. Benjamin Morales is Benales,  an avid record collector and enthusiast of Techno and House. His DJ sets and tracks combine the raw, minimal and deep elements of these musical forms with a firm nod in the direction of Detroit. Benales is resident @ 75021 party in Paris and some releases on Sino Records and Knotweed are scheduled for 2016.
