Tresor Meets Deep In The Box
Sat 16 September 2017 - 23:59

Frequent guest DJ Barbara Preisinger, who heads her own vinyl label Slice Of Life, presents her guest evening “Deep In The Box” once again tonight –  whole night of warm, kicking house and deep techno. From her hometown of Munich to success in Berlin, Barbara founded first the “scape”  label with Stefan Betke aka Pole and became a regular DJ in many Berlin clubs. Her passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno – often incorporating the music of many notable friends and artists. Matt Thibideau (aka Coordinates and one part of Repair) is an electronic artist from canada that uses his collection of analog synths to make modern music. Together with his brother Mark Thibideau they co-run Obsolete Components, a label dedicated to the use of hardware analog and digital synthesizers and recording methods. They also produce and perform as Altitude, having recently released the terrific Flux EP. DITB artist Bastian Volker is Baaz, a DJ and producer from Berlin, who is also the founder of his own Office Recordings. Baaz’s love for dubby sounds and echo chambers can be experienced in “The Reason“ and “Ancestor’s Fun“ (on Preisinger’s Slices Of Life label) although it’s obvious that Baaz also stays true to his Deep House roots. He skillfully combines spatial structures with his characteristic driving beats and organic sounds. “The Reason” is a grooving light-footed tune with a jumping bassline and develops, step by step, this driving energy, that will not let you go. “Ancestor’s Fun” brings up the energy level with stronger beats and open high hats, but the playful warm sounds and drifting strings keeps the wonderful flow that we love to hear from Baaz’s productions. Alessia Ceruti is an italian-born DJ and label owner based in Berlin. Deeply inspired by Chicago house and techno at an early age, Alessia moved to Berlin in 2013 to follow her passion and fully entrench herself in the music scene. Fast forward a few years later, the avid record collector and boss of her newly launched Dreamers Recordings and Growin Music is slowly starting to make a name for herself while continuing to develop a sound she can call her own. Downstairs in Tresor: Paul Birken is a legendary techno and acid DJ from Minneapolis, USA, producer and live machine manipulator du jour. 25 years rocking floors and regardless of a plethora of outstanding releases he still shows his relevancy within the genre for example in the recent terrific Chip Tronic “Thor” remix. Dave Tarrida is a producer born in Edinburgh, Scotland, founding member of Sativa club in his own town, co-runs Sativae Recordings with Steve Glencross and has provided our label with some exceptionally dynamic techno tracks, unforgettable musical footprints from one of Europe’s best techno mavericks – not to miss! Rotterdam home-based DJ/producer Bas Mooy has been active on many fronts in the techno scene since 1999. Heavily influenced by a city that breaths industrial strength twenty-four-seven, he gradually found his way into creating a unique dark sound and we welcome him to the Tresor decks. Berlin based Monya started to release on BCR Label which was run thru the amazing BCR Boys, then on Australian Label IF? and many more until she launched her own label Corresponding Positions (2014) with artists like Bas Mooy, Perc, Rebekah and Electric Indigo. Prepare yourself for her unique hybrid live set tonight.
