Tresor meets Deepblak
Sat 27 May 2017 - 23:59

From Oakland, California, producer/DJ/filmmaker Aybee (Armon Bazile) has garnered respect from all corners of the electronic music spectrum. With a versatility that is genre defiant Aybee traverses Techno, House, Experimental, and Hip-Hop seamlessly. Pushing a distinct sound that is in constant evolution while resolutely rooted in dance impulses. In 2001 Aybee launched Deepblak Recordings as a creative outlet for his music. Ultimately catching the attention of Legendary House DJ/Producer Ron Trent. This chance meeting led to Trent signing Aybee to the iconic Prescription Records imprint and releasing his first 12”. Soon after Aybee along with Trent would come together to co-found Prescription sub-label Future Vision. From the spectrum of sound providing dance floors nation wide, Damon Bell has emerged as one of one California’s most regarded DJ’s known to expose crowds to sounds that touch all genres of music. At any time in a set, you are bound to hear the polyrhythms of afro-beat, brazilian bossa or batucada, emerging future sounds of nu jazz, soulful deep house, 80’s boogie, rare disco classics to funk & soul. Being purveyor of fine music and record collecting for over 17 years, Damon Bell is a true connoisseur. Sarah Miles is co-founder & chief, DJ & live host at Berlin Community Radio, who plays in numerous Berlin underground locations and whose sets surprise and delight with their spectrum of sophistication in dance club mixing. In the Tresor basement: each time James Ruskin attacks the basement decks of Tresor, we are reminded of the solid thread that ties our ideals and spectrum to this grand techno artist. Certainly some of Tresor Records’ most crashing UK techno releases carry the Ruskin signature, a style he brought to the world’s attention back in the 90s and continues to mold. With his own Blueprint label he created an internationally renowned platform for talented artists as well as numerous releases that stand on their own as prime examples of the genre. Claudia Anderson joins the line-up again, an artist who debuted in Tresor only a few years ago, and who has two stellar releases on Marcelus’ Singular Records. She also contributed the track Phase to this year’s Tresor ambient compilation “Dreamy Harbor” (Tresor.291). Top-notch support is delivered by our skilled resident Mario Berger.
