Tresor Meets Drone
Sat 10 December 2016 - 23:59

Drone is a London-based label founded by producer, artist and Death In Vegas guiding light Richard Fearless, who mans the decks with some excellent talent tonight. An outlet for dancefloor distortion and other musical explorations. Created in the Metal Box, Drone releases oscillations in many forms, from brooding techno to abstract electronics, complete with hand-crafted artwork and videos. D’marc Cantu started working on Acid house and Jakbeat in late 2000. Using both modern editing techniques and classic drum machines/synths he was able to recreate the sound that he loved. In 2005 D’marc and JTC created 2Am/Fm producing such tracks as Acid Planes and Sweatbox. D’marc Later teamed up the Traxx and JTC to create X2 Time elevation rhythm and House not House. Best known for producing the tweaked beat track No Control on Crème Jak, he continues to help push Jakbeat to new levels. Richard Fearless is quite the chameleon artist with a remarkable career spanning decades. From the first Death In Vegas album, through “Trans-Love Energies” to his most recent collaboration with the legendary Chris & Cosey, we are thrilled to welcome an outstanding artist and his label night in our home. London-based Steve Bicknell was resident DJ at the famous Energy raves, participating in many of the defining events in UK club culture’s history. Steve and Sheree Rashit (who together formed the renowned Cosmic Records, featuring a roster of international visionaries) run the now legendary LOST events which influenced a whole generation of British electronic musicians. Forward-thinking and rigorously uncompromising, Steve Bicknell has remained connected to the roots, putting quality before quantity, innovation before imitation, and sticking firm to ideals and principles – an unswerving, singular vision guided by a deep and enduring devotion to the music that inspires him and a desire to present it in the purest way possible. Luke Hess remains a shining star out of Detroit. He has celebrated EPs out on Omar S’ FXHE, Carl Craig’s Planet-e, Echocord and many more. His Detroit label DeepLabs has been the center for his own deeply personal projects. In Globus, Johannes Auvinen aka Tin Man oscillates his analog machine funk between Acid and House when live, and rocks the dancefloor just as wickedly while DJing. Producing music for more than a decade, Vienna’s Tin Man is the named master of the neo acid scene and continues to evolve and invigorate with each and every release. The California-born artist has six albums already released and is also part of The Acid Symphony Orchestra (a live super group that features artists playing on ten 303, 707 and 808), turning out a standalone neo-classical and ambient work, Vienna Blue, which proves he does so much more than pure dancing music. The mysterious ladylike life form of returning artist known as Alienata has dedicated herself to learning & analyzing sound in all of its forms as well as joining forces on Traxx’s label Nation. Moving through Spain, Italy and Montreal, Alienata makes her home in Berlin for now, and in 2008 Alienata was also responsible for musical direction of Overflow records label, where she was able to expand her good and expert musical taste. Alienata is currently working on a musical project called Kat Channel with Snuffo (50% of Snuff Crew). Our very talented resident Magda El Bayoumi provides power support.
