E-MAN-CI-PATE, the monthly house music party with and hosted by the legendary Tyree Cooper with Bobby Starrr, turns the +4Bar into a dance playground for a night of qualitative, upstanding house music, and as with each succeeding party, a very special guest is hotly awaited. Since winning Muzik magazines “Best New DJ” award in 1997, Terry Francis has had what can only be described as a meteoric rise to fame. A seamless mix of deep dubby house, celestial breaks and ethereal vocals – it was shot through with the kind of shimmering techno sensibility that really marked it out as something special. Some called it “tech house”, whilst Terry himself jokingly described to it as “house no”. A founding member of London’s legendary Wiggle nights, he later became a resident at the mighty Fabric club, gathering a huge fan base of house music lovers. The basement Tresor Floor welcomes the Munich artists Dario and Marco Zenker aka the Zenker Brothers back to the decks. Ilian Tape was founded in 2007 by the Zenker Brothers together with Mueller. Dario & Marco are responsible for the musical part, while Mueller does all the graphic work. The label has picked up substantial international artists and tonight the Zenker Brothers have brought label collaborator Regen from Berlin, to add some Berlin techno flair. The decks receive a solid supporting hand from Dutch artist Esther Duijn: her sound is characterized by the deep and solid side of techno and house music. Duijn is co-organiser of Donker in Amsterdam and hosts a night called Another Earth which has had artists like German master Moritz Von Oswald. She loves to mix the old, the new, the rare, the deep and the raw parts of dance music to brilliant effect, never compromising on the groove. Maintaining a steady flow while staying true to the roots of Chicago house and Detroit techno, Esther also draws influence from acid house and dub techno.
