Globus is again hosting the monthly E-MAN-CI-PATE night: resident house music legends Tyree Cooper and Bobby Starrr introduce a top guest in the house music vein each and every time. Tonight they welcome the heads of Wiggle, the highly successful neo-acidhouse movement in the UK. When Terry Francis and Nathan Coles started throwing parties, it was pretty much a reaction to their circumstances. Already committed to London’s fledging acid house scene, and both influenced by rare groove and up-tempo soul, they wanted to do something off their own backs, just for their mates, with DJs they liked and Evil Eddie Richards was one of them, so much so, they made him a resident. Over 18 years later the trio are still in the rudest health, noising up nightclubs with that same simple ethos, while Wiggle – the catch-all term covering record label, club night and attitude – has also come to typify a style of music; a deep, druggy basement-shaking music to escape in and get down to. Thanx to Mr. Cooper and Mr. Starrr, Berlin clubbers can experience this very special and unpretentious night of hot house music from the UK. Wiggle it indeed. The Tresor Floor finds young Spanish DJ Svreca on the turntables. The Madrid-born DJ combines the coolest and most sophisticated electronica with the most abstract and complex techno, and sometimes his experimentation leads him towards the most unusual textures and rhythms for the dancefloor. Tresor Records Spanish artist JC gives utmost solid support, as do Berlin DJs Mad Alba from Homopatik and Liber Null’s Unhuman.
