In this edition of the Berlin home of London’s Secretsundaze events, organizers James Priestley and Giles Smith return with their ultra-fresh and very UK stab at house tendencies à la Globus. Let’s remember: 2009/10 the Swedish duo Skudge peeked around the corner with their first production and wham! – shortly thereafter in the techno world. Something about this no-bullshit-techno, mostly on their own label, felt damn right for a damn huge amount of people and the result: instant fan following. Aside from the perfectly punk-infused tracks and remixes, the hardware intensive live sets brought Skudge notoriety. And so tonight the pleasure is in Globus, and although some may wish it was in the basement, the Skudge pendulum between house and techno allows for enough wiggle room. Eric Cloutier is co-owner of Berlin and Bristol-based label Tanstaafl (together with John Osborn). If you appreciate house and techno music with depth and sophistication played with tight technical skill and genuine feeling, Eric Cloutier should be on your radar. Now making music as considered and carefully crafted as his DJ sets, Eric Cloutier has long been an influential underground selector. It is for that reason he has held down residencies at esteemed clubs in both Detroit and Berlin, as well as appearances in top international clubs and festivals. The Tresor Floor we welcome one of our Swedish favorites Pär Grindvik. An emotional techno DJ and diverse, multi-tasking artist, he re-located to Berlin where also spends much of his time promoting his own label Stockholm LTD. Pär Grindvik has been a central figure in the Swedish electronic scene since the 90s having released music across a plethora of acclaimed electronic labels, including a string of hits on his own as well as Drumcode, with frequent collaborator Hardcell. Denise Rabe has dipped her hands in many projects, from hosting a show on Berlin’s infamous Sweatlodge Radio to handling bookings at Berlin’s open-air venues. This rich, diverse range of experience has all influenced Denise in a grand way, ultimately leading to production sessions in the studio. And fresh from his set last month in Tresor, Anders Hellberg is a Berlin-based producer/DJ from south Sweden who has produced electronic music since in 1998. He is a highly skilled producer and he loves to work with analogue gear and play live sets direct from the machines. The tracks are solid and bass heavy techno with a straight and pulsating rhythm.
