Tonight our excellent techno resident REKA hosts three new talents for our regular Wednesday New Faces night. Shadowy DJ Nephil is the founder of the label Gravitational Waves. His 2016 EP “The Creation” was a foray into ominous soundscapes and moody stompers, and his 5th EP this year “The War of Gods & Man” reveal six uncompromising cuts of eerie synth lines, vocal samples and growling basslines, confirming the brilliance of this young artist and his label. MEJLE is a resident DJ and co-owner of Mechatronica – a Berlin based record label, promoter and collective founded in 2012. Mechatronica releases music from an umbrella of artists and holds club night residencies at several happening Berlin underground venues. MEJLE’s rugged and dynamic approach to DJing blends with a decade-long passion for collecting music and mixing records, to produce energetic sets that surf across electro, acid, EBM, techno, chicago and detroit sounds, italo disco, new beat and everything in between. Besides DJing, label management and event organising, MEJLE hosts Mechatronica’s radio show where he talks to personalities on the scene, and plays upcoming or unreleased music from around the globe sourced through Mechatronica’s community of listeners and artists. Young Zagreb-based DJ Maja Pa is still a relatively new face to the clubbing scene, and is also a part of the bRAVE collective (w/ Le Chocolat Noir and ikonal). While avoiding the stereotypical party sounds, she presents interesting, energetic, sometimes eclectic sets that vary between techno, electro, wave, acid, avantgarde and various experimentations. Maja Pa joined in the bRAVE collective with a few other like-minded colleagues, on a mission to bring the real rave feeling back to the raves and to present hidden treasures of the unconventional party scene in Croatia. Since Maja has been noticed for sophisticated taste in music, some of her mixes were broadcasted on the praiseworthy Intergalactic FM station as well as on few other well known podcast hosting sites.
