Pineal Navigation, a.k.a. Niall Dunne’s first major gig came when he won a DJ competition with Mixmag UK, giving him the opportunity to play at the renowned Dance Valley Festival, Amsterdam where he shared the stage with techno legend’s such as Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, and Chris Liebing. Since then, Niall has been DJing in the biggest clubs in Dublin and is a regular feature in some of Ireland’s biggest festivals, such as Life Festival, and Electric Picnic. Not satisfied with only expressing himself through DJing, Niall began experimenting with synthesizers and drum machines and began to immerse himself in music production. This process gave birth to the Pineal Navigation moniker which focused on capturing his productions through live jams in one take and keeping the energy of the process intact. Niall sees his style as being a fusion of his upbringing in Dublin and the culture in Ireland together with his many musical influences including Detroit Techno, electro, house, dub and reggae. In 2010 Niall became closely affiliated with Vision Collector, a club night promotion and record label based in Dublin. Over the last 5 years his collaborations with Vision Collector has seen Niall bringing his Pineal Navigation moniker to DJing performances to prominent Berlin clubs. In March 2016 Vision Collector released his first solo record titled “Take Your Self Back” EP which included four tracks of deep tunneling and melodic techno. Doug Cooney has cultivated his knowledge of techno music over many years. Doug‘s passion for this craft runs deep and his DJ sets span the full spectrum of Techno, past and present. Doug brings a similarly tireless ethos to his own productions, which blend classic analogue synthesis with contemporary digital sound design. Releasing on labels ORBIS, Bastardo Eléctrico & ORGONE alongside the RLSD Records his own imprint has laid a strong foundation for his future in muisc. His production has received support from Ben Sims, Answer Code Request and Jon hester to name a few. Doug Cooney is also the driving force behind Real//Sound Ireland an independent music school for aspiring producers and DJs in Dublin. Real//Sound provides workshops and showcases for those hoping to learn the craft of electronic music, within the laid back and straightforward environment Doug insists on with all he does. Our excellent Tresor Club resident Mareena welcomes these two talented new faces for a night of uncompromising techno.
