Polish artist Veronique is a fierce and uncompromising DJ and ambitious promoter. She is the founder of collective and series of events The Meaning of Rave and Femme Fatale PL. Having been a singer, guitarist and pianist, and graduated from acting school, her true love of electronic music was discovered 3 years ago. She played in most polish clubs and this year has landed her gigs in Berlin and in Lithuania. Veronique has a very versatile taste in music, often constructing rave style, distinct and strong kicks with acid, trance, industrial sounds and emotional melody. Kimi O has a particular view on club music. Under her Faux Naïf alias she digs for records outside of the electronic spectrum, often championing the lesser known sounds of tropical goth, post punk and EBM. Her broad tastes in these genres mostly stems from the 80s, taking as much influence from British groups like The Cure and Cocteau Twins as she does any electronic producer. Tonight’s new faces artists are hosted by Netherlands-born Tresor resident Esther Duijn, whose sound is characterised by the deep and solid side of techno and house music. Having released on labels like Fred P’s Soul People Music, German Housewax and Portuguese Exquisite Music, solo and also with her long-time production partner Steady Douglas as “Duijn & Douglas”, Duijn has shown her skill as a producer and a DJ, with over 20 (vinyl) releases under her belt. Esther’s running a label, podcast series & event called “Another Earth”, inviting various international well-known artists. Esther loves to mix the old, the new, the rare, the deep and the raw parts of electronic dance music to brilliant effect, never compromising on the groove. She maintains a steady flow while staying true to the roots of Chicago house and Detroit techno.
