Tresor New Faces
Wed 22 March 2017 - 23:59

RENA has overcome the preconceptions and transcended a heavily male dominated arena by sticking to a strict work ethic and a healthy and imaginative approach to her music. A relative newcomer to DJing but with a lengthy and enthusiastic exposure to electronic techno music, she brings a fresh, innovative and contagious brew of energy to her performances. Concentrating on gigging around her native Greece, she has steadily built herself a loyal fan base and developed her technical and programming skills. Having paid her dues and worked her way up from a consistent, dependable warm-up DJ for big names like Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Len Faki, she has effortlessly made the transition to peak time performer and crowd pleaser. RENA‘s sets can encompass everything from the deepest house to the funkiest, raunchiest techno – always blended and mixed with precision and soul. Marc Ash is co-founder of Crimewave (former bi-monthly party) which since 2012 has brought a selection of minimal-synth and avantgarde electronic performers for the first time in Milan. Drawing largely his aesthetic and artistic inspiration from early new wave and dirty industrial as well as from electronic pioneers, he’s active both as dj and producer, with his self named project (obscure electronics, after a synthwave beginning) and his moniker Plovdiv, more techno-dark beats driven. In December 2013 Marc Ash released a track on Minimal Trend Records’ “Minimal Milan” compilation and he’s currently working on his own label “Blacksilk Records”, which aims to bring out the best of hidden experimental and obscure electronic projects. These two formidable techno voices are welcomed by tonight’s host, Tresor resident Reka.
