Hannes Matthiessen began DJing in Hamburg at the end of the last century, most notably in the infamous Tunnel Club where he was a resident. He went on to play gigs all around Germany and with his former studio colleague “Chopstick” he produced several remixes and tracks. In 2005 he signed a deal with Media Records were he released 5 E.P.’s with fresh banging techno sounds, one of which was his crisp remake “Zwielicht” of “2 Unlimited’s” evergreen “Twilight Zone” which caused quite a sensation to be released on CD afterwards. Threading the underground following music MMI eventually arrived in Berlin. His commitment to techno as an art is inspired by the rave years in which he was born. Free from a persona, his music speaks of his attitudes. Tresor resident Mario Berger welcomes these two artists for tonight’s edition of Tresor New Faces.
